New Graphics Card, no new results

Hey
I recently got a GTX 465 and installed it along with the correct drivers. I tried playing all of my games with it (cod4, cod2, bops, wow) and I am getting the same amount of FPS as I did with my old card (9800 GTX+).

I have 4 gigs of ram and a Quad Core Processor @ 2.4 GHz.

Can anyone help shed any light on what I should do? I have thought of reformatting my PC but i'll need to buy and external drive for that.

Did you uninstall the drivers for the 9800?
If you didn't, you should. Having multiple video drivers installed can cause problems.
 
What the FPS are you getting? Is it possible it's each game is hitting it's max? I know that the Cod games, there are options to set max frame rate..and you may be hitting the default max.
 
I did uninstall the drivers, or else I wouldn't even be able to play the games.

I'm getting an unsteady 250 fps which is the same amount of FPS as I got with my previous card. I'm not reaching any "cap" of fps.

No game needs over 100 FPS, lol.
 
Did you change the max fps for the game? I know for CoD4, you would type in console com_maxfps xxx where xxx is the number.

Ex. /com_maxfps 500
 
It sounds like you're reaching software maxes. There might not be a command line limiting it, but rather the software itself is holding it back. If you want to see a big difference you should try running something more resource-intensive than CoD or WoW. CoD is known for having low requirements and WoW is 6 years old now. Try running BC2, Crysis, or some benchmarks, something that actually carries some weight to it then you'll see the difference. Oh, and make sure you've got your AA as high as you can crank it :P.
