Hello eGO Community, I've been experiencing the following G15 Logitech keyboard issue over some time and have finally decided to thoroughly inspect the issue.

The issue: The Logitech G15 Keyboard is completely unresponsive upon booting up my computer. The keyboards lights nor the led display turn on. I am unable to:
- Access the bios
- Click any key

Only until I reach the windows login screen am I actually able to use the keyboard. At this point, the lights turn on and I have full functionality. Whenever I am required to enter the bios, I constantly need to resort to using a simple default windows keyboard.

This error has been occurring over a number of years now. Only yesterday did I decide to upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit from a Windows XP 32 bit OS configuration.

The same problem occurs under my current Windows 7 64 bit configuration. After consulting a number of the server community advisers and members on the ventrillo server under the alias "SilverStream", I have completed the following:

1. Installed the "Logitech Gaming Software (Current) Windows 7 64bit drivers" Link to driver location

Despite the new software changes, I have noticed no improvement and the problem persists. I am highly suspicious the problem could be dealing with the bios of my motherboard. I highly doubt the motherboard drivers were installed correctly. The drivers from the motherboard CD do not support windows 7 therefore I installed the following:
P5N-D Motherboard Driver: "NVIDIA nForce C55/MCP51 Chipset Package Driver V15.37 for Windows 7/64bit 7.(WHQL)"

I appreciate this communities computer hardware expertise and would be grateful for any assistance provided. For your convenience, here are the relevant computer specifications and images:

Motherboard: Asus P5N-D 750i
Keyboard: Logitech G-15 Gaming Keyboard

Thank you.

Maybe the logitech only works if it's drivers are running, which needs windows to run.

It's a logitech, that's your problem right there :P I kidd I kidd. Do you have the most updated bios? I had a similar problem but mine was the opposite. Needed to flash the bios and all was fixed.

That could be the issue at hand.

However, I wouldn't know where to start to flash my motherboards bios.
If possible, could you redirect me to a step-by-step process on how to accomplish this?
As mentioned, my motherboard is the P5N-D 750i by Asus. Perhaps different motherboards require alternate bios flashing techniques?

I'' try to be on Ventillo later if you are available and able to assist me. I completely understand if you are preoccupied. This isn't exactly a life-threatening situation. I appreciate your assistance nonetheless Cpt. Kirk.

I think there's no way to fix this. You have to wait for the Logitech drivers to load, and that won't happen in BIOS.

My G15, strangely, will control my BIOS, though...

I have a G15, and have no problems prior to entering Windows (although, as expected, the LCD doesn't do much until the software loads). The problem that you're likely having is that your BIOS, for whatever reason, isn't recognizing USB devices on load. Does your mouse or other devices work prior to entering Windows?

Also, if you can get another USB keyboard, try that. That'll help eliminate the G15 as a factor.

Normally I'd be happy to walk you through it on vent, unfortunately my dog ate my headset (no I don't wanna talk about it). But I'll see if I can find a decent walk-through, if not I do plan on getting a new headset fairly soon and can help you then.

@Flippy the Squirrel: I am currently resorting to the use of a default windows keyboard for entering the bios. Although this is a great inconvenience, it works. As for my mouse, it does indeed function prior to entering windows. I still believe though that my bios is lacking an update causing an incompatibility issue with my G-15.

@Cpt. Kirk: I appreciate your offer. If you are unable to locate a decent walk-through, please alert me either by replying in this thread as I will check it daily or add me on steam "SilverStream"
