Hi All Congratz on the Promo's

Just want to say that asking for a weapon is ok, but it is and always will be a first come first serve. No matter how bad a person is with the weapon you want. I keep hearing you suck can I have the sniper or maybe mg. These guys are learning and you were that bad to at one time. So please be courtious and respect the players and they use it until there finished with it maybe 3 hours maybe

One tip is to scavenge for weapons that suit your needs on the ground, this does not mean staying by an ally sniper and waiting for him/her to die.

Well, when someone has a weapon you want. Ask them to let you know when they're done using it, and that should be the extent of your asking.

Another way is to wait till they die then take their weapon . But just don't keep bugging asking for the weapon, it gets annoying after a while.

I have in the past and will in the future kick/ban someone that keeps asking for a weapon. The other thing that will get a kick/ban is to keep telling someone to let go of a weapon that they stink at being a sniper or mg or what ever. The only way someone is going to learn is to use it.

I agree waiting for someone or huvering over them till they die is really not cool Tart I'm think a warning should go out if they say you stink or keep asking for the weapon and then a kick is in line next.

I'm going to revive this thread...

I noticed this going on yet again on Donner. Nothing makes a person want to stay another 5 hours holding onto a weapon than another player repeatedly bugging them for it... In fact, I think that may be my new tactic... LOL

Seriously, though, it's rather annoying to listen to a player whine and moan about not having the gun they want to use. THen they go on to insult the player who has the gun they want... Although, the funniest thing is usually when the whiner gets the gun... what does he do with it? Nothing. Unless you count the 18 deaths and 2 kills one such player racked up in the 5 minutes he had sniper after begging for it repeatedly... It was actually a shame his game timed out on him.


Also, shadowing a sniper and playing the Angel of Death is offensive, at best. Worse, FLASHLIGHTING a sniper in a dark room, so that they get shot, and you can pick up their rifle WILL get you banned on the server if I catch it. That's out right harassment right there.

I will ask a player for the weapon once. If they don't want to give it to me, that's cool. I'll play with the BAR until a slot opens up, or until Deets complains that I've been on Donner for 4 hours... I don't HAVE to play Sniper. No player HAS to have a specific weapon.

In closing ... Whine less, play more, and grab the slots while they're open. Asking ONCE for a weapon slot is not a problem. Asking repeatedly so that it's harassing IS a problem. Being a jerk about it WILL get you kicked, or banned. But just snagging the spot when it's open = kosher.

i could not agree more that the most annoying thing as a player is hearing man you suck give it up.....

haveing fun is what it is all about i know loosing is not always fun but.. if the class you want is not avalible move to a different class i garentee you their is not a player out their who is a expert with every wepon in the game... move to another wep and get better with it...

Luckily, though, Godot, we KNOW we won't hear/see you telling another player he sucks on an eGO server... Right?

Mad or not, another player's poor score doesn't concern you. This is where it's the hardest to not harass another player. But since you're in the server, then you already agreed to play by the server rules. If, at any time, you forget the server rules, please type MOTD into the chat box, and it will bring those rules up to refresh your memory.


Again, I will state:

NO PLAYER is allowed to harass another player for a weapon slot. EVER.

That's a damn good call there Colwulf...Yes we have all built a large gathering around this great game of DoD, but it is indeed just a game. There are other servers, other games you can go play if you don't like your weapon class. Unless the man with the rocket is just jumping up and down in spawn, shooting rockets to the heavens, leave people alone when they have the limited classes. They have as much a right as you do to be there.

I concur. First come, first serve. I don't mind at all if someone asks me for a weapon when I am done with it. But only once!

I could not agree any more with everyone here. I try to play smart and if someone thinks they can do better and ask I will hand over. But how am I to get better if I cannot test the waters and see what each position does? Winning is not everything. Like it has been said it is a game. Some one the best matches I have been in, my team has lost.
