What would you like to see in 2011

Let me start off in saying this thread isn't meant for joking around. I want everyone to take this seriously, and those of you who don't will find your post deleted.

Anyways, we exited a great year and have entered a new one. We want to make sure everything goes as good and even better than iit did in 2010. We are working on a lot of things behind the scenes already for this year, and wants the community opinion to add to our list. What do you want to see happen within the division during 2011? What can we as leadership work on to make your gaming experience even with us better in 2011? Anything at all can be suggested or said. If you feel your suggestion should be private - shoot me a form pm or post in the drop box or find me in ventrilo to chat, I will copy your suggestion over to our private forums for discussion.

Let us know. Be serious about your post. Be elaborate and constructive (expand on your thoughts, dont just give us one line to work off of). This is your chance to tell us your thoughts.

agreed and also more maps like high school maybe a new version of high school if that is possible.... college map??

also some events such as

e v.s eg vs ego members on high school so people in group can play against each other

new member day ~ like friday night battle sessions

If we're going to keep Jail Nights, we should do some sort of 'Old School' jail night, where we play maps that aren't on the rotation anymore that have died away. I can't remember the names of them anymore, but many (or at least a few) maps have grown old and were pulled away from the server to make space for new ones.

Perhaps we should have a page/thread listing our current rotation of jail maps with perhaps some screenshots of the map, some credit to the map makers, small statistics about the map etc. I think this would come in most handy for when we're voting maps to be played on jail night, I often get the feeling people vote for just any without really knowing what map they're voting for because they don't know the names. Perhaps hold votes to pull maps no one likes to play off the server.

Jail aside, I think we should utilize the Steam Community group we have for the CS:S division a bit more. I've noticed that announcements are often being posted for events, but there is an event feature on there which notifies people when events are about to start, an administrator just has to input the events. It has a little section for the server IP, password, details etc. This is just a tiny suggestion but I think I'd be less likely to miss events if the little notification popped up when one was about to start. The only problem with this is that Steam hasn't given the option to make an event reoccurring yet, so each and every event would have to be put in. I and I'm sure many other people would contribute to this though.

I'm looking forward to the events that will be held this year. 2010 events were decent but there wasn't enough contrast, many events were too alike. We need more variety, but I'm sure you already have that figured out.

Sort of just realising that my suggestions are really more suited for the Dropbox but oh well. If I think of anything else (I'll try), I'll post again.

I would like to see a larger variety in events. Not just the same ones every single week. Also, I would like to see a little more playing from leadership. I know it is a hard thing to do, with all the work that has to be done, but I would hope that they can make time on their busy schedule to play in the division that they run.

Event wise, I would like to see surf and gun game used more, if possible. Also more soccer night events.

Server wise, possibly a rotation server? Throw in some maps like italy, nuke, nightfever, inferno ect.

Climb event was a big hit, a lot of people showed up. I think it's good to have something fresh and exciting like this, as opposed to something like jail night, which isn't that popular, not many show up, and it's pretty mundane. If I wanted to go play jail with friends I'd go to the 40 slot jail server we have, if I wanted to play fun climb maps with that neat plugin with friends, well, an event every Monday would quench that desire. I know evilbear mentioned making it a regular thing but every 2 weeks or so. I think it'd be more advantageous to make it a more common event by replacing something that isn't as well flocked to, i.e jail night or what have you. Out with the old in with the new.

Yeah, Minigames I love but I doubt it will happen.

I would like to see Zombie Mod and more specifically Zombie Escape brought back. I've put up my reasons before in drop box but there is far too much support for ZE both in public and eGO for it to be ignored. There is no other mod that has the variety in maps and the on your toes action ZE provides. Plus we have the admins necessary to make sure it doesn't turn out to be the grief fest found on other servers.

I know at least 4 of my irl friends would play eGO servers if we had a stock rotation with awp. Or just a regular stock rotation. Or a GunGame server; other gungame servers that I play on regularly go down often, despite the number of players on the server, a nice reliable server that I can play 24/7 that is only down for updates and stuff.

Two things I would love to see for this year and would make me more than happy:

1) Mini Games server - I think this is the fourth time of me posting about a mini games server. I can't express how much I want a mini games server for eGO. I understand that we have tried a mini games server previously and it was not successful. However, if you look back when we had the server and now, there's a huge difference. We have gotten a lot more members which means we need another server to relax on besides jail. Jailbreak is a wonderful place, I'm pretty sure everyone in the CS:S division have visited the server at least once. The reason jail is so popular is because it can be relaxing for someone going home after work, school, or whatever. However, jail can get very frustrating at times, freekill, gunplant, breaking rules, and just pure chaos sometimes. We already have four competitive CS:S gaming servers, and we need something to really relax on. I fully understand that Counter Strike wasn't created for these Zombiemod, Jailbreak, Mini games, and deathrun server but since we CAN do it, why shouldn't we? To take this further, there's not a lot of "punk-free" MG servers out there. Adding our punk free MG server can draw more attention of people in and everyone can have a blast. To sum up, mini games can be a place where people can hang out, relax, and have an awesome gaming experience. I hope that mini games will be added to our gaming list one day in 2011.


2) Buy your own event - I've been wanting this event to come back and I hope it will. When I joined in late march, I saw a few people with their own event and I really wanted to host my own. I decided to save up casino cash and get my own event. Unfortunately, after June 4th the event was gone. Now, I have a whole bunch of Casino Cash and there's not much to do with it, except put bounties on people. Also, bringing this event back can make the casino cash have more value to it. Right now, you can't do much with casino cash and it's worthless. I really hope you guys would take this into consideration.
