How is this PSU?

Anyone know if this is good or not? I can pick one up for $60 or less. I mainly want it because my Tuniq has been making some coil whine on my 460's under heavy load and its getting annoying. Also its not modular so i have a lot of cables lying around in the case.

I read one thing about the rocketfish PSU and supposedly its really good. Some of the quality might not be there but it performed really well. It's 80 plus silver certified.

Theres a review, it's a rebranded Huntkey apparently from what i've read and forums.

You think i should get it? Im pretty interested in one especially for like $50 shipped
 
Well from what I saw in the description of the RocketFish, im rather disappointed in the warranty. Only 1 year for parts & labor. The Huntkey was double that. Another thing that disappoints me is the fact that people rated the RocketFish, but didnt even take time to comment on it. That website is also very poor on providing the specs & facts of the RocketFish. If it were my $$, id go after the Huntkey.
 
Idk, according to the review i linked which is from a very reputable person according to [H] forum and stuff. The rocketfish/huntkey performs amazing
 
I must say that Seasonic psu's are alot more dependable. Ive heard some good things about their durability.
 
=/ i would get a higher end PSU but i don't really wanna spend like $200 for a high end 1000w.

Yea i know, i probably wouldn't even think about getting a rocketfish etc if all i read was the name. But i read that review and its made me think. Especially for like $50
 
the fact it only has a 1 year warnty is the company already telling you "yeah this things gonna die....i bet you it last a year IF YOUR LUCKY but u prolly forgot to register it ....or hell we just might not answer the phone =D have a nice day hope we didnt fry any of your parts...lawl like we care if we did"
 
If im gonna change PSU's im definitely getting a modular one.

I'll keep looking around. I can get a Corsair HX1000w for like $150 =/ idk if i really want to spend that much right now though.

My current 1000w isn't dead yet so maybe i'll just live with the noise it makes during load and buy an extension for the 8 pin motherboard cable so i can actually route it through my cable management.
 
The HX1000 is a great PSU. I have the 750-watt version, and nothing but great things to say about it. It does everything really well (flat cables are so much better than sleeved too.)

Remember the 7-year warranty too. That, by itself is worth so much. It's the ultimate in future proofing.

Whoa whoa whoa.
OEM sleeved cables suck. But custom sleeved cables are the best thing ever. Flat cables are annoying.
 
Werd, custom sleeved PSU's just look sexy.......maybe i'll hold off an a PSU then after just buying my graphic cards.

Unless the dude gives me the HX1000w for $100 :P
 
Without knowing much about how you run your rig, how come you need a thousand watts? It looks to me like the rig you have should be fine with a 700-750w PSU even if you're doing some serious overclocking, unless there's something I'm missing here? D:
