OK just thought I would share with you guys what I'm using to learn :D Right now I'm using a program called Human Japanese $30 boxed and about $20 as a digital download. It's the best thing out there! Way better than Rosetta Stone for sure! "Human Japanese is a Japanese language learning software that starts at square one and presents the Japanese language in a warm, engaging tone. Packed with over 1800 recordings of vocabulary words and example sentences, an instantly searchable dictionary of vocabulary words and grammar terms, dozens of games and quizzes, and a great text that teaches how the language works." Also I'm printing worksheets from here http://www.tokyomokyo.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=40&Itemid=72 to to practice the stroke order and to help me memorize each character.

Learn Korean instead! lol jk
I like Japanese too XD
But once you learn Japanese, Korean shouldnt be hard either
They use same type of grammar :P
Same thing goes with Chinese(I think...)

Do note, that to know the correct grammar, truly correct pronouncation and especially... Dialects... You can better learn the language in the land itself, Tokyo Metropolis alone has around 20 - 30 dialects, all completely different than original Japanese.

What always surprises me too is that such programs are always filled with either grammatical or spelling mistakes, but useful for someone wanting to teach english there, yes, but prepare for a shock once you think you master it. :P

lol yeah my next language after Japanese will be Korean. The program teaches you the right grammar and spelling as far as I can tell and I already know of the different dialects and of course you learn the language better in the land itself xD I will learn the dialects once i get there. (trying to go to school there for a year WOOT!) I already listen to nothing but Japanese music and shows so I'm used to how they sound and I'm ready for the shock xD probably wont shock me at all lol and I know I wont have it mastered for a very long time.
