bring back houses.

now i know this idea or similar has probably been brought up in the past but i was looking at the list of eGO members through the ranks/stats pages and i think i counted 800 and someodd (probably closer to 900 by now) members.

how nice would it be if we divied these members up into groups or houses like in the past?

i think Inner-eGO tournaments or 'risk'/world conquer campaigns could be a fun idea. i do have something of a template that could be put into the works for a campaign amongst eGO members. i also have a fancy statistics system that could work towards points during these campaigns.

if anyone is interested to hear more just say so and il make another post. for now im just throwing the idea out there to see what we all think. run and gun pubs can only hold our interests for so long, some people forever but i think we could have fun with this.

let me hear your thoughts.

the good thing about the groups in the past is it brought people to getter and had some close groups which i liked. but the good things about it also led to break ups and lost lots of clan members that created new clans.

I figure we already have that though...most people generally associate with a particular map and we have seen evidence of that repeatedly. These--usually--end up being the people they talk to, hang out in Vent with, etc. etc.

And suggesting that houses would cause these current separate groups to mingle more?...I don't see it as very likely.



Anyways, I know leadership will jump in soon to say "We've discussed this, it's more harmful than good, they won't be back. Thread closed." so I am just pointing out why that is since they get tired of defending everything they do against people like me who fight it hahaha.

houses are not returning in the near future. they had their advantages but caused too much rivalry in the past.

I see an interesting pattern here...those who usually promote bringing back houses for reasons such as closer community interactions, closer-knit communities, etc, very rarely post on the forums and/or hop on ventrilo only once in a blue moon, if at all.

All you guys who claim houses will bring back close friendships and comradery that currently supposedly no longer exists, nobody is going to listen to you if you don't even attempt to use the current socializing tools available.

As far as your events suggestion goes, we already offer everything you suggested in the form of DoDS realism nights, realism campaigns, a competetive team playing in numerous leagues, and cross-divisional scrims. Not to mention the inter-divisional scrims we have such as royal rumble, etc. This just reinforces my point that some of you need to become more active here on the forums.

So heres my tip to you. Get on ventrilo, become more active on the forums, and get on the DoDS servers. Then perhaps we can discuss matters such as this.
