Proxy Problem

So I seem to be able to connect to my browser and vent absolutely fine, but when i try to run a program that needs to update (ie WoW or McAfee) i get a proxy error.

also when i run steam, i can connect to any server just fine, but the MOTD file gets the same error as well as the steam store.....anyone know how it fix this?
