pc freezes

ok guys...got one prob.....if i playanygame (lately i happens with bf2 aswell) my pc freezes and the last sounds repeats its self loud and nonstop...so i restart my pc and start everything again...but theres no window saying what cauced the problem..maybe someone knows

You really gotta put more info than this. I mean, honestly, this is no different than saying "when i drive my car it makes a noise, what is wrong".

Can you tell us if it used to work and was all of a suddne or if you made a change of some kind and it started. What type of hardware do you have, what resolution and settings are you running the game at, does it happen everytime like clockwork, at a cirtain point everytime, randomly, someitmes it happens other times it doesnt or always after 20 minutes of play or something.

Basically, start using the tech help form.

DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM:

EXACT ERROR MESSAGES: no message appears....even after the pc restarts...it only freezes

WHAT HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE IS AFFECTED: everything is affected....it evn freezes if i only surf in the net

WHEN / HOW OFTEN DOES THE PROBLEM OCCURE: well...i can play around 20 to 40 mins before it freezes

RECENT CHANGES (SOFTWARE / HARDWARE / ETC): nothing..everything is like it was when i got the pc

LAST TIME COMPUTER WORKED FINE: 2 weeks ago...could play 5 hours in a go

RECENT EVENTS: <power outage / lightning / BSOD> nothing

THINGS YOU HAVE ALREADY TRIED TO FIX PROBLEM:
i look in the net if i could find anything..found nothing..so im asking you guys

Wow, I'm happy you used the form but I ddint realise that it turns out so giant and or that the bullets cant be coppied. Did you put spaces between the computer specs or did it copy liek that? I ask because i want to fix the master copy in the sticky if it comes out liek that on its own.



Well, I am wondering if you are having heatting problems. Specifically, overheating problems. When the videocard or cpu overheat they can quickly cause stuttering and freeze your computer. I think it should be noted that durring the freeze, if you are unable to ctrl-alt-del out of the problem then windows is also frozen, whereas, some people just have the game freeaze but windows is fine.

Open up your case and see if you have dust between your cpu heatsink fins, behind your fan and also check the air flow path of your video card. Do you have a way of measuring the temp? Either in a program such as motherboard monitor (for cpu) or ntune (for video card) OR even a lazer guided infrared thermometer (like me). I would like to know how hot in Celcius theya re getting.

1st : yes i just coppied it and added my stuff
2nd: i looked for my temp with a prob..and it stays 32°C all the time
3rd: no i cant use ctrl+alt+del....tried it 100 times...dont work
4th: there is no dust..looked twice....nothing..its a clean as a new pc....so it cant be the temp or any soft/hardware probs....well..if it doesnt work ill go to the guy who sold me it and ask him he should check it..or i ask a mate who knows how to handle this...thx anyway^^

they cant be at 32C underload thats soo cool. This issue is mostlikely not caused by a hardware issue that would be warrantyable, it is probably then caused by sofware - anything from a poor instalation of windows or directx or a driver update that needs ot be done.

What I would do is go to the windows error logs and look for events that occured at the time of the freeze, you may find ared x mentioning a device that failed. That would be your best bet.

There's one thing I can think of, but if it never happened before now, I don't know why it would just now show up. When I was running my ASUS motherboard, I would have pretty much the same problem here and there. Finally it was determined that my sound settings were too high for my onboard sound. You might try this. Go into command and type "dxdiag". Once that comes up, navigate to the "sound" tab. Then check the Hardware Sound Acceleration Level. If it's on full, turn it down to at least standard. If you continue crashing, try turning it to no acceleration. If it still crashes, then I guess it's not that part of your sound card.

Your over heating. You need to at least try to manually set your fan at higher rate and watch your GPU temp while in game.

i was getting the exact same error messages until I started using Riva Tuner and turning my fan to 75% while gaming.

That was my first thought as well but he claims its at 32C - i'm waiting for him to correct himself though, only way to get 32C under load is water cooling or playing at dx7 or something.

Oh, I forgot, it is possible that his computer is overheating. I ran Riva Tuner once, and it said that my hard drive was running REALLY HOT! I ran another monitor and even used a temp sensor on the outside and both were fine. It's possible that the readings he's getting are wrong.

yes it makes more sence now, but i'm still wating for him to cme make a responce and explain how he gets 32C as a temperature. He doesnt seem to be viewing this thread anymore though.
