Should we replace Argentine with Kalt 24/7?

Greetings fellow Edgegamers.

I'm not usually one to start a debate, but in this particular case, I feel that I must.

I am very disappointed to know that the Argentine server sits vacant 99% of the time. Meanwhile, several members and non-members I have spoken with while playing insist that we replace the Argentine server with a 24/7 KALT map.

I know there is a Friday Kalt tournament, but there are enough players that feel a 24/7 map is necessary.

In addition to a 24/7 Kalt server, I would also like to see the Kalt server an Instant Respawn to attract non-members.

Lets make this happen. Its an excellent map and fun as well. I can guarantee that it will not sit vacant as the Argentine server does.

I welcome blatant points. However, I can name at least 5 members EG or higher that agree with me. If that is the case though, and I have no reason to doubt you, why don't we have that particular server go back and forth between Argentine and Kalt? I'm not trying to cause a ruckus, merely making suggestions to increase membership.

You know, I do have to say that out of all the "Bring kalt back!" type posts/threads, this is the most reasonable. I voted yes, since argentan sits empty just as much as kalt did, maybe even more.

I was all for giving it a chance, but that was over 2 months ago and nothing has permanently changed. I do like playing argentan, in fact it may be my third favorite map.. but there is rarely people at all. usually 3 on 3 at the most, and that clears out fast since I tend to sweep. :P

If neither works, why not a new map all together?! :D

exactly... just for the record though... 5 people you have, do they attend the event on fridays? I think that would be a good way of showing leadership that there is interest in the server.

Also before people just toss away argentan, i would like to see an instant re-spawn there as well *look at how popular anzio is*

The instant respawn idea isn't a bad one.. Assuming that adding "Instant respawn" to the server name would draw in the attention desired.. Sadly, I truly think that Argentan isn't that popular of a map in general, regardless of eGO hosting it or not.. -_-
 
has anyone got a count on the kalt revival threads?
and for the people that say "im busy when we have kalt night" theres an equal amount who go to that but dont want kalt back, including myself. So i just dont see it getting a return, i would rather we tried something new if argentan ultimately fails, but instant respawn would be a nice change.
 
Rotating maps isn't a bad idea.

Maybe add Avalanche@Night map to the mix hmmm? :drool:
 
The only way i would support a 24/7 kalt server would be if it was on a rotation, i'd say instant respawn would be an option but it'd be really freaking hard to end a round if it were instant.
 
The issue with rotation servers is: When the map changes a large percent of the player base drops from the server.


I know I would if it was a map I didn't want to play.



Not to mention I think we should stop beating the dead horse that is kalt.
 
Lol, it seems as though this topic comes up every week. If the Kalt server failed before then why would it work this time around? Kalt Night is not even busting at the seams, so Leadership sees that as a negative. A rotation server would probably be the best bet. Even though you would see a dropoff at the end of every round, atleast there would be some amount of people on at any given time.

If that is not an option, then what about shutting down the server and saving the money to be put to something that would better the division? Just an idea....thoughts?

eG, or up? That doesn't make their opinions more valuable than e's.


Kalt was replaced for a reason, If you wish to suggest it personally to leadership, then go ahead and post a thread in the Drop Box.
 
alright we dont need anymore of these threads guys. we JUST had one a couple days ago which discussed the EXACT same points and options. The next one is getting trashed.
