thing is i want what i know works and is reliable with my uses and cuda is a huge timesaver since it can do some things way faster than the cpu ever could. and NV stuff has always worked flawless with all the OS's i run.

and really i dont care if i got this hours best tech i work on making games art assets for the UE3/UDK and the source engine both of which are brand new. and i work in audio post-production which for that i olny really needs lots of ram and pci express since i do all audio processing on Pro tools HD cores and UAD cards.

and the requirement wanst a NV chip-set just something compatible with a NV GPU.

and also for the whole old tech argumeant tell me what FPS games you play both CoD games and source games are heavily based on the old ID quake tech.

I more posted that rant for people that keep posting nForce boards in this thread.

yea, like i said earlier, the Gigabyte UD5 would probably be your best bet in that price range.

If you bargin hunt a little, you might be able to find an Asus Crosshair IV Formula for $200, which is a better board than the UD5. Not that the UD5 is bad, just the CHIVF is better.

Man, where have I been.

i think that started in version 5 or 6 your prolly thinking of pro logic which is apple only.

really i use pro tools, cubase and nuendo on both mac and windows and they all work just as good on either platform.
