(Ill Legend was busy and told me to just use Paint. So I did! Ron suggested making the whole post in "Crayon" font, but we can't, unfortunately...)

It's been a long year for all of us here in DoD, but let's start with a quick recap:

Recapping 2010! said:
January - Colmar Server is set up and begins operating as the first instant respawn server in DoD.

February - Team DoD:S wins every interdivisional scrim they compete in by a landslide, showing its competitive mettle.

March - Division Leader (now Council!) Duality leaves to head the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 division, and protege Spray is promoted to take his place. C-WhIt and General Nuisance join the Leadership team.

April - Council member FluffyTDestroyer and Division Leader DirtyDeets step down due to real life commitments.

May - Spray receives the prestigious Medal of Honor.

June - DoD Leadership helps revise Admin 101 policies, and the Admin Trainers begin using the Unified Admin 101 system. Blue Stealth is promoted to Advisor.

July - Colmar server map trials begin; Anzio is selected as the winner after four weeks and has been well received. Realism campaign #1 kicks off to great fanfare and success. Jeod66 is promoted to Division Leader. Dutchoper72 wins the Assassin Game.

August- Realism Campaign #2 begins.

September - Competitive Team launches in FDL and DCL

October - C-WHiT is awarded the Division Leader Commendation for his work with the Realism Tournament. The dying Kalt server is changed to Argentan, which quickly takes off with the division's support. Meanwhile, a weekly Kalt event is started. Advisor Matt with a Cat leaves to take charge of the new Strategy division. Boyle is promoted to Advisor and Greenlight Terror returns to Leadership from a hiatus.

November - When the dust settles from Halloween, Xiah, Ravage, and (IO) SA take home prizes as winners of the Halloweekend Frag-Fest. Jeod66 receives the Medal of Honor. Realism Campaign #3 begins. The Blue Stealth-led Recruiting team brings in a record number of recruits.

December - Advisor KillerXDebo moves on to the World of Warcraft division while Ronpaul is promoted to Advisor. DoD:S celebrates the holidays together!

When you think about it, a lot of stuff happened! In the span of one year:

DoD:S Leadership (or former Leadership!) has taken the reins of two new eGO divisions, including a promotion to Council. Three Medals of Honor have been awarded, as well as a Division Leader Commendation and multiple Distinguished Service Awards from Artimus himself, and a Leadership Member of the Year award! Evidently we're doing something right! ;)

On to some important questions...

Kalt vs. Argentan

Might as well take care of the elephant in the room first, I guess. Kalt died, and has been reborn as Argentan. The server has been updated and should be ready to roll; we will be sticking with it. As we have said before (this is nothing new!), if interest stays up with the Kalt Event on Fridays, we may look into what can be done about another Kalt server.

The Drop Box

We take anything posted in the Drop Box seriously and discuss it in the appropriate areas. For those who think otherwise, standard procedure is to copy any promotion recommendations to a special thread for review, and we do similarly with other issues as they arise. Getting a "Thank you for your recommendation..." doesn't mean we're ignoring you, by any means; think of those "standard" replies as proof that we've taken note of your comments and concerns. Sometimes we do miss things, but we try not to.

Admin Training

We'll be stepping up our efforts to help out all of the new promotees. Krazy1 has joined the Admin Training staff, and will be a huge asset to us as we move forward.

Recruiting

We ended the year on a good note with regards to recruiting, and would like to thank Blue Stealth in particular for his efforts here, as well as everyone who graciously donated prizes. We will continue to offer prizes for recruiting in the future. While December's numbers were a bit off of November's, this is to be expected with the holidays. eGs and above, please remember to put in promotion recommendations for worthy recruits via the appropriate avenues.

Events

As always, we are interested in pursuing new types of events, but we need your feedback. Not showing up for events doesn't help, and neither does "I liek zombie mod it wuld b cool" in the Drop Box. We would have no problem trying to get things set up, but we need lead time and help from you: Things don't get done instantaneously, and that's why progress tends to be slow; we have to work "behind-the-scenes" to make them happen. Want to try Zombie Mod? Help us find a reasonable plugin and we'll take a look at it. The same goes for other mods; we get a GunGame suggestion every once in a while in the Drop Box too. We had that in the past, but the mod was glitchy, nobody showed up, and an update finally broke it for good, so it was removed. If a good mod showed up though, we'd certainly be willing to try it; don't let anyone tell you that DoD:S is resistant to change! Our goal is to minimize these kinds of issues while having as much fun as possible.

Members of the Year (That's right, there's two!)

Congratulations Stormy for being named the DoD:S Member of the Year for 2010! His work with the Realism event has made it (and the subsequent campaigns) a huge success, and we are proud to award him this honor! Keep up the fantastic work!

We'd also like to congratulate Angreifen for being named a Leadership Member of the Year. As a longtime Division Leader, he has been a driving force in shaping our division and its direction. Congratulations, and thank you!

Sticky Topics

Thanks to Blue Stealth for doing a great job redoing the stickies in DoD General. He not only condensed many of them into a "General FAQs" thread that covers a ton of stuff, but also made custom graphical buttons and worked with Dominion on scripting to make their functionality possible. Please refer to that thread with any general questions you might have, such as about spawn camping rules and fixing lag issues. Thanks Blue!

Competitive Team

The Competitive Team has now officially completed its first season in both FDL and DCL. Sadly, eGO was eliminated from playoff contention with a five ticket loss last Sunday. As disheartening as it was, we have a lot to look forward to.

The FragDODS League (FDL) has joined forces with DODS Competitive Network to form the DODS CompNet League (DCN). The new league will be staffed largely by FDL admins and will begin a new season of competitive play starting February 2nd. This means that we don't have much time to regroup and re-establish a roster, so PM ronpaul if you're interested in competition!

Very nicely put together. I know i was very active the first couple months of 2010, with participation dwindling down throughout the year due to 'real life' coming into play. I'm glad to see this division is still going very strong! even with the additions of multiple divisions. We have great players, great admins, great leaders, but most important of all is GREAT FRIENDS. Lets keep this level of play up for 2011 and make it as fun as possible

Duality, eat your heart out.

Looking forward to another god year, and check out the bit on the competitive team, we are looking to expand.
