was this a good idea to cheat on installing steam?

Well i got a new harddrive for windows to boot off of, and i had my old 2nd HD that steam was installed on still in the comp. So when i reformated i just installed steam again in the same place and it seemed to detect all my game and they work lol... was this a good idea? i figured it just had to put steam back into the registry on the windows drive, or will this cause slowdowns or anything??

dont see why it would hurt anything. you could delete the old then just reinstall it all your games will be in the steam cloud
