Agreed. There isn't much to upgrade (with today's tech) in terms of hardware. I'd go for a new monitor.

I am planning on buying an SSD for my OS, then RAID 1 2x 640gb caviar black drives for my data/games. I'll probably run TF2 from the SSD. This is the other option I'd do.

As for everything else, there's nothing that exciting about Sandy Bridge coming from your i7 950. Also, there's nothing from Sandy Bridge that you can pop into your motherboard either yet. Your ram is good unless you want to go with 12GB as ram is cheap now. You could get a nice cooler and some Arctic Silver 5 and OC your i7 to 4GHz. I have a Cooler Master CM 690 and it provides great cooling if you need a case upgrade. I hear the CM 690 II is even better.

If you have Windows 7 OEM, if it's anything like Vista, your OEM is tied to your motherboard, so if you upgrade it, you'll have to buy another copy. Anything else though you won't have to upgrade, but I'd do a clean install.

I have an i7 860, 8GB ram, 640 GB caviar black, and I upgraded my graphics from a GTX 275 to a GTX 580, so I'm set for a while.

uhm, just post what is bad and what i should upgrade. Money is never a problem. What is actually so bad about my monitor? Just wondering tough.

I like it, but I usually get asus as a motherboard, I like samsung or toshiba for screens but its really up to you, I would definitely do some looking around before making a final decision.

I like Samsung or LG for my screens. The new ones are thin and LED backlit. If you go with a 23" you'll be at 1920x1080, which is better than your 1440 now.

You could always jump on the new is better bandwagon and get a 3D monitor from Viewsonic and some glasses and get a couple of 3D graphics cards :) (unless your Radeons do eyefinity).
