Getting a SSD disk. Suggestions?

Absolutely, they've just begun making SATA III drives within the past year so of course the limits of SATA III have yet to be pushed.

But in the same respect, there's already SSDs in PCI-e that have r/w spds of 1.4GB/s. I don't know what the threshold for SATA III but seeing what PCI-e can already produce, I'm wondering if SATA III can beat it.

1.4GB/s? That's freaking sick man!

I have been using an intel SSD since summer 2010 and its been great! I'd go with Intel :)

Super fast boots, no problems of any kind so far. Make sure you keep the HDD for the games though and run some the essential SSD tweaks after you install the OS

good call. people tend to forget about the intel drives since they show to be slower on paper, but in reality they can keep up with the fastest sandforce.

if you put 4 sata6 ssds in raid0, you could get 1.4Gb/s.

nothing special about pcie

I suppose that would work, but w/ that example it kinda feels like it's more proving that sata III is, atm, inferior performance-wise instead of the other way around.

revo drive X2 is just 4 small SSDs in raid 0

240GB revodrive= $680

4x60GB sata6 ssds= $540

I'm not seein' the value
