Who's tempted?

I'm thinking about it. I've got an alternate use for my 460 all lined up, the 560s are supposed to be a bit quieter, decent stock clocks, and apparently OCs nicely as well. Smaller form factor(compared to 570 and 580) works for me too. The bigger question is what brand? I'm a fan of EVGA stuff and never had a bad experience but the MSi is pretty tempting...
 
If i had the money for it i would buy it and buy another and another so i can run sli and then randomly give away a 560 to a homeless guy.
 
The MSI Twin Frozr II is lookin' quite nice.
I think after I sell my monitor and my 6850 I'm going to pick one up.

I'd rather go with the TFII simply because the heatsink is better.
 
wow only 300 bucks canadian, thats really surprising.
thats like the same price i paid for my 5850 when it was new. ah well i still think im in a better position to get another 5850 and just run SLI instead of upgrading to an all new GPU again

$300 CAD? That's a bad price imo. It's $250 USD. I wouldn't want to live in Canada. The price of maintaining a computer hobby is much higher. Higher cost of components, and the internet isn't priced nicely at all.
 
The Asus DirectCU looks nice, dual fan HSF. Theyre all looking pretty good though.

Ye, i wouldn't pay $300 US for the Gigabyte gauntlet, considering the MSI Hawk and Asus are only like $250 and they both have amazing aftermarket cooling

But the gauntlet is supposed to be "selectively" picked so it can OC higher but idk

I'll probably be getting one in a few weeks. Gotta sell my (old) monitor, then I'll sell my 6850. I'm excited.

I think it all evens out, they make the same money, but more of their currency, but everything costs more. If that makes sense.

Minimum wage here 7.35 last time i checked

there it averages about 9.50 their currency.

I wasnt able to find anyone posting a possible OC of the MSI card when I said the gigabyte card. the gigabyte card at the time of posting was and still is the fastest clocked Card out of the box though. It was also cheaper at the time of release compared to now as it seems to have been upped a bit. But while were on the place of best price and all that.

This is the 900 MHZ Gigabyte Card. Cheaper by $20 Canadian, Looks almost the same for a cooling solution as the MSI card. Can anyone find the OC and cooling specs of this?

That link is to a comparison ppz did of the ASUS and MSI GTX 560, Lead to also including a few others. MSI is good, yes. But to say that the Gigabyte 560 is nothing over a couple of degrees of cooling is a joke.

Ok the 880MHz TFII out now can get to 1000Mhz Clock. Price wise MSI better, if the Gigabyte card came down in price then it would be reasonable. Both Cooling options are not bad though.

Just noticed the Post, Ya minimum is higher, but we (West Coast Canada, B.C.) Minimum wage is around $8 at present. We pay More for Gas then States, and more then Eastern Canada. We Pay more for Internet Services which cost more than the states (We also have fewer to choose from). And yess we pay more for Computer components, but the nice thing about NCIX is a little program called ASPM (Advanced Service Price Match). I just bought a Nice PSU regular $310, for $264 before taxes. also has a MIR.
 
Its definitely a good card, the Gigabyte gauntlets are the best cards gigabyte makes. I believe they are binned but im not 100% sure on that.

They don't sell them on newegg but the MSI Hawk and Asus DirectCU go for $250 and theyre both great cards.

You can't be sure on how high a card will overclock, theyre all different unless specifically binned and some will overclock a lot higher than others.

I want one just for the Ti Branding, but until nVidia gets their act together with surround, i ain't buyin'

everything in canada is more expensive, tho our currency is basically at 1$ now, meaning 1 canadian is 1 US, so it would be cheaper for personally, me to go to the states and buy it, but online and such you'd have to pay dues for the border crossing and massive shipment if you could even get it shipped etc

but yes min wage where i live is 10.25 now. it basically evens out, other than the price of gas. but still i expected that card to be more expensive in general, but what do i know, i stopped keeping tabs on everything for awhile.

but ya nowadays i can get another 5850 for like 180 bucks with a rebate. but i'd be getting a new cpu before another gpu
