Hello, sorry if this has been brought up before but I cannot seem to use my in game web browser. Whenever I am in game (happens for all games) and I open the in game steam overlay to try and use the web browser or go to a link, the browser comes up but it says "failed to load web page (unknown error).-10". My internet works fine and I can alt tab and open links using Firefox or whatever but for some reason my steam browser doesn't want to work. I've experienced this before and after some time it would begin working again, it seems to be random and is usually broken more than it is working. My steam client is up to date as is everything else used for internet so I'm a little stumped. Appreciate any help you can give.

Make sure your proxy settings in Internet Explorer are not turned on.

Sometimes, stupid websites can automatically enter information in their..But an AVS should detect and stop this.

Do you know how to check your proxy settings through Internet Explorer?

Uh not exactly. Should do I do it through Firefox or IE, and how? You mean all my proxy settings or ones that affect steam?

Internet Explorer uses regional proxy settings.
As in, if there's bad proxy information entered to Internet Explorer, any application that needs an active feed will be denied.

Update to programs, live browsers like Steam, and some instant messenger programs.

Open up Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > Make sure the proxy box is NOT checked. Clear out any information that may be entered.

Fixed it! Had to give some steam files full access in my firewall settings.

Good. :]

Now you know for next time.
I forgot people still used Firewalls.
Hahahaha.
