I am not sure if this has been examined before but I just found this steam group now and personally feel rather upset because what they say is completely false.

III. Our Quarrel
A. Trademarking Overuse - They shove ? down your throat.
B. Spaces in Server Titles - They use spaces to bump themselves up the server browser.
C. Advertisements - Ads cause you to get banned quickly because they take up space where rules should go.
1. They take up the M.O.T.D. - I like joining servers to see ads.
2. Rules Not Clear - Wait, you banned me for doing what?
3. Banned for No Reason - Oh, right, banned for "Reason: Other."
D. Administrators - Everyone hates them mainly because of their administrators.
1. No Community - Admins do not aspire to create a community that invovles pubbers.
2. Admins Do Everything - Admins do not want anyone other than themselves to try enforcing rules.
3. Too Many Admins - So many admins causes things like favortism and knowing how to brown nose.
4. No Consistency - Admins can ban you for whatever reason they like, as long as they can make it sound good enough.
5. Admin Abuse - Admins abuse passively.
E. Not a Family Organization - They claim to be, but they really aren't.
1. "M" for Mature - Oh, so you have what age group playing games for 17-year olds?
2. Borderline Porn in Sprays - Sure, no porn, but they have girls in bikinis as close as possible and even worse.

IV. Our Mission
Our Mission is to decay the popularity of =(eGO)=? servers in a mature fashion, by protesting and expanding this group, until =(eGO)=? presents itself as an honest, decent gaming organiztion.

This is outrageous, they obviously do not understand what eGO is all about and have problems with obeying our sever rules.

I could rant so much more AAAARGGH!

Everyone has a right to there opinion even if it is anti-eGO. There are several anti-eGO groups out there and a lot of players who hate eGO. That's there right as human beings. eGO isn't for everyone (and we wouldn't want it that way)...anyone who listens to this group without finding out for themselves isn't eGO material anyways.
 
I just think its pathetic and entertaining how WRONG they are though! I can refute every single thing that they list!
 
Lol or we could NOT look into it (refuse to feed the trolls) and just worry about ourselves. :)

And I can go through and find at least 1 example for everyone of their points.

Think of it this way. When you buy a product and you're looking through the reviews there's always 1-2 negatives for a good products. This group are those negative reviews...Those people who got that one bad experience, or that nothing will ever be good enough for them.
 
So what are we going to do about it anyway? Nothing; there's nothing keeping them from running a group like that. As YSD said, just don't feed the trolls. It's a bad idea. Most of the anti-eGO groups are TF2 anyway, so that's not our problem :P

If they want to spend money raging, let them, it doesn't hurt us at all. We have popular servers for a reason: People enjoy playing with us, subject to our rules.

If you can't tell, this has come up just a few times before :P

Best thing to do with people who have a beef with us is to just ignore them. They are obviously people who couldn't handle following SIMPLE rules and probably still have their umbilical cords attached to their mothers even 13+ years after birth.

I am paranoid about picking up a virus or some other nasty I never join any group. Please dont asks me as refusal might offend.
 
there have been many many anti eGO groups. no big deal. who cares. if you like eGO dont worry about what everyone else is doing.

So True! But Still you cant keep someone from having a (false) opinion. So they dont care for our community. I dont care for people honking at me...I just try to get used to it. And know that "THEY DONNO NOTHIN 'BOUT ME!" :thumbup1:
 
You've never seen the anti eGO tags? Ha. Believe me, don't be getting angry or upset about this, for there are a lot of people who are not fond of eGO, but there are obviously plenty who are since our servers are quite popular.

I wouldn't go as far as saying these dudes are trolls, nah. Dudes that got kicked/banned because they couldn't follow the rules? Yes.

Classic case of getting raged due to your inability to find a half decent server after your banned from a good one.. You already know contest ban won't work, so what do you do?! You JOIN a steam group. that'll show those admins.

probably founded by someone who is upset cause eGO banned him for acting like a little punk...water off a duck's back...even though it borders on libel...
 
I've seen posts like this in the past. And i think even one was made by leadership. The message in all of them has been to stay away from them. I know its hard to ignore but groups like these never go far and if they feel like griefing then chances are we will get to ban them anyways. By getting involved with them and defending eGOs values or even clearing up misunderstanding you only put fuel into the fire. Dont give individuals or groups credit by recognizing their presence if you dont want them to have any type of effect on you.

Moral of the story: Leave them alone, ignore them, and do your duty as admins and members.
 
If we were to form a counter-trolling unit to beat our enemies' psyches to the ground you all know I would be the first in line (and do a damn fine job at it). However, you don't see me joining their forums just to mess with them (believe me I want to) because keep in mind that even on other servers/forums when you wear the tags or try to present yourself as representation for eGO you actually do represent eGO and still must abide by its rules.
