At the moment, The United States isn't backing anyone. Right now they're fence sitting and praying that Egypt doesn't devolve into total anarchy.
 
I've heard about some looters that broke into King Tut Museum & destroyed artifacts.. thats not tremendous ...

And how do you feel about that? The fact we like to help people so much we get dragged into other peoples problems...Because sometimes, I'm all for when the US wants to help or back people, but then again I sometimes wish that the US would recoil and go back to what it was doing after the revolutionary war when we decided that we should just keep to ourselves and not get involved with other country's problems.

Egypt was never about "helping people". Mubarak is essentially relic of the Cold War who managed to remain useful to the US after the Soviet Union collapsed. The aid that the United States has given Egypt has been predominantly military in nature.

Isolationism has a way of biting the United States in the butt. Like when the US lacked a navy to fight the Barbary States. Or not joining the League of Nations after WWI.

Oh yeaaaah. Yeah, its true Isolationism does have its ups and down. We always chose to be isolated when we least needed it, which was always ironic.
Yeah, it would make sense that its all military in nature because we do the same for just about everyone else...
 
My Uncle and his Family live in Cairo..Hes been keeping us informed on whats goin on. His family is being evacuated to Amsterdam (possibly back to the U.s ((Ohio)) ) if things get any worse

I gotta say..It's really weird and scary hearing gunshots over the telephone knowing that all your family has is a couple of baseball bats..on that note did yall kno Americans can't own firearms over there?
