Is this case worth it?

Since maturity has come up, I gotta say I feel that frugality has a good bit to do with maturity.

That being said, I'm not too sure which I would pick. Actually, I wouldn't personally pick either of them. I think the HAF is ugly and I think the PC-K58 is better than that K7B. Might be wrong there on airflow, wouldn't know for sure, but it seems to me that the K58 has better cable management.

I also understand where you're coming from on hardware ADD. I already got it the month after I built this rig. I just need monees.

Honestly, I don't know too much about cases. A whole bunch of airflow, cfm, and other crap I don't know. My judgment is based on what I can see.

K7B has fewer 5.25" drive bays, less cage in the HDD cage, and an extra fan. It's also got a top-mounted PSU and only a hole for cable management instead of an entirely open end. That open bottom on the K58 just looks like cable management would be much easier, especially if you've got a tough time of getting cables to reach. For instance, I can't route my CPU cable back there and if it wasn't completely open, I'd be even more SOL.

If I were you, I'd keep my $100 and save up a little more for something like an SSD or SB CPU.

I only need 1, maybe 2 5.25" drive bays once I get a BluRay player.
It actually has one more 3.5" bay.
And the motherboard tray is removable.
And I have the necessary tools for modding it to get some more cable management options.
I'll get an SSD when SF-2000 comes out, and I'll wait until SB isn't defective. lol.

I didn't say fewer slots, I said less cage. There is simply less metal in that cage. Didn't know the mobo tray was removable, that's actually pretty cool. Would that help with installing giant hunks of metal like the Archon? And necessary tools sounds like a lot of work to me .

Sounds like you've got everything lined up down the road, if there's nothing else you can upgrade now why not.

wow that lian li is probably one of the sexiest cases i've ever seen - but seriously, where is the ventilation? it doesn't exist in that case, period.
go with the haf purely for the ventilation. and it really isn't that bad looking of a case either

you can see the case i have...i have 7 fans in the case alone, and i need em for my OCs. once i get a new CPU and the corsair hydro h70 it will be turned into 8 fans

Ah. lol. I don't see how that's a bad thing? Unless you put it in with the "bad things" about this case, but it was just an observation.
It would. I'd still have to put it on before mounting the motherboard, but then I'm already done putting it in the case. lol.
And since the motherboard tray is removable, that makes modding it super easy. Just cut some holes at the bottom. Depending on how much space the bottom of the motherboard has to the bottom of the case, I could just outline the other holes so it'd look nice.

2 fans in front, 1 in back. That's actually a good setup. The turbine effect is pretty efficient, in most cases. Having a bunch of fans and a lot of ventilation (LanBoy Air, looking at you. The cooling is within ~1-3C cooler when you install all available fans compared to the stock.

I don't like those cases, though. Not for me. I ordered one for a build I'm doing, which I will probably make a tutorial how-to.

idk about a HAF, never owned one, but the phantom is a good 7c hotter than the bench.

Best case out there. I know it's expensive, but it has a hiding system for PSU cables and 4 stock fans which are very effective and quiet.

The way you tilt the motherboard 90 degrees is also ingenious, as the cable management system on the top of the case is brilliant.

It is also pressurised because of the airflow so no dust will make it's way through openings.

Buy a high end case, you won't regret it.

if a case doesn't have at least one vent on top, its out of the question for me. IMO front fans are very over rated - most of the time they're only getting like 50% of air flow through considering they are sucking it through the front and pushing it through all your components there HDDs wiring etc.

That first case seems like pretty much the same thing, only a little bigger. Not sure if it's worth it over the K7B.

NCIX has Fractal Design cases. They're pretty awesome, but very pricey. My budget isn't that high.

I don't think that case is the best.
A good case is determined by the person buying it. Just because it's good for you doesn't make it good for everyone else.

I really do like that case, but it's just too much.
And it weighs too much. Remember the part where I wanted a lighter case for transportation? lol.

True, but I can do some spiffy cable management, and take out/mod the HDD bay area. Hell, I could even take those out completely and just make my own for however many I need and put it on the bottom.

Looks wise, the one I linked to is all aluminum and much more attractive. It has the option for a top fan if you decide to go that route in the future. USB 3.0 ports. And like you said, a little bigger.
