I can't play ins

try adding "-dxlevel80" into the launch properties then when you get in disable in game music. That did it for me but ur obvoiusly having a different problem, i suggest you still try it though...heh
 
i did a full system wipe after getting r6025
new install of windows 7 and then downloaded ins and other steam games from steam rather than store the file on another drive.
and still got the same error.
So everything is fresh so it cant be a registery issue or file corruption
cs.s and halflife works fine just not ins ive removed it from steam a few times and re downloaded it.
thinking it may have corrupted on the download.
it starts working but as it gets to the point were i connect to a server and it says sending info thats when it crashes.
Ive updated my v card driver with nvida yesterday as the one that was installed was a bit older than the version that was released this year.


i will try again later on today.

Especialy RT he has been with me vent trying diffrent things.

ok here is the stange thing
i went into server today tried and it failed on me i kept trying still nothing
the music was driving me mad so i decided to disable the music on start up.
and the game worked the first time i tried it.
all that time of not playing and it was the simple music that caused the issue...

id like to thank everyone for there help in trying to fix the issue
 
i dont know why it would cause that issue but maybe it just grabbed a random code.
having spoke to a few people since i got it working they have also said that the start up music has caused them issue's its something to do with the sound card thats for sure.
but hey its working thats all that maters.

I doubt this is related, but when I got minecraft, there was a problem that when I changed sound or music sliders (they are meant to be set to 100, but mine were set to 0) the game crashed.
Turns out interference from other applications that affected my sound.
Device Manager > Sound, Video, Game controllers
Then disabling the ones that weren't my sound.
Just playing a song is enough to determine which one.
