World Cancer Day Recognition

<div style="width: 500px; text-align: center" align="center">
We would like to ask everyone to take a few moments to observe World Cancer Day today. The chances that you know someone who is suffering, or has suffered from this ailment may be higher than you imagine.

Some recent revelations among our members have given us an opportunity to reflect on the world outside of our little sphere of influence here at eGO. While we fight to keep our servers a family-friendly place for all to play and have fun, some simply cannot, because as we have said so many times, "real life ALWAYS comes before eGO." Sadly, here it really does.

It's heartbreaking to hear of friends and clan members going through events like these. It is saddening for us to hear a son inform us of his father's absence, to hear of a member leaving us for months to take care of his family, or to hear just how many members whose lives have been touched by cancer. This is something that truly affects all of us in some manner.

When this subject was first brought up in Leadership, there was unanimous agreement that it would be appropriate to do something simple like this to honor the day.

Please take a few moments to reflect on this malady and think about those affected by it. For those interested, here are a few valuable links for some further reading.

Nice to see eGO doing something like this.

I feel bad about people with cancer. I can't wait for them to find a cure for them so they can be active like we always are.

Nothing has really happened to people around me but it must be pain and torture knowing what is happening.

Goodluck to anyone and everyone with Cancer and hopefully they will find a cure soon!

My Grandfather died from lungcancer, my grandmother is suffering from lungcancer. My mum have had birthmark cancer.. me, i am healthy so far. but my thoughts go out to all of those who suffers from cancer, or have passed away due to cancer.

Hoping for a brighter future, with a cure to cancer.

I have participated in THON events many times to raise money. This fundraiser raises over 7 million dollars every year for the Four diamond fund. It's all thanks to a great student community who travel and collect donations. The funds are there, just need people to go out and acquire it!

Cancer patients are the true fighters of this world. Its the worst war that is wagged everyday. Its great to see that we support the true warriors and should be inspired by there courage , will and determination and the true meaning of life.

This is the exact reason why I love being apart of eGO.

My mom recently died of lung cancer. I'm happy that eGO decided to recognize this day.

This thread is really inspirational, and is nice to see that so many of you care for such a cause. Many people do not know this, but I myself had cancer at age 3, and I was lucky enough to survive it. My prayers go out to the other troopers of eGO, and cancer patients around the world.

My grandpa died from cancer and i'm happy eGO is recognizing this day.

I am sorry for those who have suffered cancer. My Mom beat breast cancer.

RIP all those in my family and friends who have succumbed to cancer, you know who you are and are in our thoughts and prayers.

I am inspired and touched by the response this post has brought out in our edgegamers community!

Wow! My Dad recovered from throat cancer last year and it was really tough and stressing on my entire family. It really means a lot to me that you guys are honoring the people that have been effected by it and supporting them. Thank you so much!
