Source tv?

Hey, if you want someone banned from the server you got to have a record on the person you're reporting for cheat. So I was thinking becuse Ins is a hl2 game ain't it possible to get a Source tv , as it's called in css, in the server that will be recording everything. So the admins for the Ins servers can watch it and see if he is cheating or not?

Good idea but we as admins will not look for trouble. When trouble comes to us we will admin it.

Anyways Darth is right if trouble arises and we are not in the server call in a G or an O to handle to problem make sure you have plenty of G's and O's on your friends list it's very useful

And I honestly don't know about Source TV lol

Source tv is like ai in video games, it finds paths and the camera follows them, many times to achieve cinematic views not easily possible if you were controlling it your self. Drunkenfetus tried it one of the early ins leagues we had, it didnt work out I think, broke or something. The source tv doesnt allow you to go where ever u want, it allows hundreds of people to spectate a game with no impact on the game server its self. A delay can be set, and by default you cant talk to the people in game.

If we were to have this "Source tv" in our ins servers, it would be nice to have a (stv) for our events so people could watch what we do on a daily basis and what we do in general. So say we are doing an event with the soccer map and we are playing soccer... its like watching a real soccer game but with real players behind the monitors. But thats just one thing that popped in my mind when reading this thread.

As everyone's mentioned there are a lot of problems with Source TV in this suggested function. Also, nobody mentioned the fact that we would have to store and then be able to easily access the recording at specified areas of the video footage.

I don't really see this working, but keep these suggestions coming, we're always looking for ways to improve our administrative systems, etc.

I used to admin for a half life 2 deathmatch server chain and they had some sort of plugin so that when in spectator high ranking admins could turn something on and make their view wireframe. This could help when they think someone is wall hacking.
