Weekly photoshop challenge idea

So, me and a few other individuals came up with the idea to create a weekly "photoshop challenge" to where an art task will be posted in this forum and whoever wanted to participate would create whatever is asked and then post it here for display. Why would we do this? For fun and to expand out of your element - to learn something different in photoshop.

An example of this could be a task like "Personal Logo Creation" where you would create your own personal logo or "Pop Art Recreation" where you would take a piece of art from the pop art era and recreate it. Obviously there would be restrictions and rules for each weeks task.

So what do you think? Would you participate? What are your suggestions if you are interested in participating.

I would participate, if I felt like it. Would there be judging like SOTW, or is it just a personal challenge?

If I have time I will give it a shot. Always fun expanding your horizon on your artwork. Kinda confused on the layout tho... Do you give us an idea and we run with it like the SOTW or will you give us a picture we manipulate into our own? Or some other new idea I can't think of?

If im going to o this I'm going to need your suggestions for what can be done for each weeks challenge. I have some ideas but I will run out after while.

I liked the logo idea.

Some other ideas..
maybe the different styles of art.
You had already said pop art.
Maybe

photorealistic fantasy
fantasy
photo/sketch hybrid

sense of speed
metals
carbon fiber
cloth
perspective
glass

Or have holiday themed weeks.
Valentines, St.Patricks Day...ect.

We could also post up one unique item and have people go crazy. Just requiring the item to be in the picture somehow.

A good resolution to do these would be 1920 x 1080 (HD)
That way people could use them as wallpapers.
Have everyone submit them at 940x540 (half) to post on the forums.
With a link to the full size below the picture.


I also like the idea of it not being a contest... this way it can't become a popularity contest.
Just have a nice and friendly art submission.

Hey i am just a begginer and is there a way we can learn from these people and know what they know so that we can use it in another signature a long the way. Btw i would be happy to participate!

I have a question, lets take an example of theme from TS Glass
So would i make a tag(art) with my version of Glass? could it be a professional photo of a glass or a logo with glass feeling to it?
or Metal, could it be a signature with this metal feel to it(texture or effects) or something?
Maybe its just me that is wondering about this

So what im asking is like..do we make our own versions out of the theme? or does it have to be like exactly like the theme says or does it have to be just logos, just signature's in every theme?

I'm not sure... it will probably come down to that particular week's guidelines. I would guess.
