REALISM Week 1--Axis promotions

Thank you to all who came tonight and participated in Realism. As some of you learned the hard way, I meant everything I told you guys in PMs about what it takes to get to play. The guys who attended the strat meeting got first preference, then the people who spoke to me, then the rest of you.

SO...for next week...try to make the strategy meeting (currently scheduled for 7pm EST, Friday night). This is important for you as an individual and for us as a team. Then Realism on Saturday night is at 8pm EST, but try to get in Vent as soon as possible (early is on time, on time is late). Also, one last note...if it is past 8pm EST and/or I am in-game, do not...under any circumstances...IM me. Please and thank you.

Overview

So tonight we attacked on Claremont and had some things go well, some things go not so well. Long story short, we lost that attack. Your Command Staff met for an hour or two after the battles to discuss things and I have been working on stuff/reviewing demos, trying to learn from our mistakes for the last seven hours. From this point on, however, I'll worry about the future, you worry about the present, and we'll all forget the past. No matter what the outcome, this outlook will help us do our best.

Now, following that embarrassing defeat, our defense on Anzio was anything but. We defended masterfully the first round and then were even more of a force offensively on the next two rounds.

Following the second round of Anzio, field promotions of the rank of Obergefreiter (Corporal) were given to Fluxion and Ides of March.
Fluxion - On our defense in Round 1, Fluxion was chilling in the apartments alone. This was not be our design (though perhaps by his), and he turned the place into the Bates Motel, murdering anything that checked in, going 6-0 there. Proving it wasn't a fluke, he came right back on offense and decided to take on the church by himself ahead of his team, tallying another 4 kills before finally dying.
Ides of March - Had some key kills on Claremont and then in our first attack on Anzio he was assigned to hold back for a while, then try to sneak some potshot kills on the bridge. In Ides-speak, this means "rush bridge solo and kill fools" as he took out the bridge side by himself before getting picked off by a rocket.

Promotions

Now on to the other promotions, along with your new sigpics. All promotions are hard-fought and well-earned. In fact, there were a handful of other people deserving of promotion, but these five stand out above the rest, so please give them the respect of seeing what they did and congratulating them.

Fluxion - Unteroffizer [Uffz.] - Immediately following his field promotion to "Corporal", we had another attack. What does Fluxion do? He proceeds to kill seven Allies...and living to tell about it. Overall in three rounds, Flux went 17-1.

Ides of March - Unteroffizer [Uffz.] - In a rather interesting parallel, immediately after his own promotion to "Corporal", Ides decided to give the solo bridge assault another go. He again took out three guys before finally being gunned down by ronpaul deep in Allied territory--all while we were all still just hanging out back in our own territory. Primarily, however, this was the Command Staff's easiest promotion decision, for Ides' immediate knack on Claremont to follow even the most suicidal of orders, take command of a squad on the fly when things went not-as-planned, and for even unselfishly acting as bait in attempts to draw MG fire.

Erich - Obergefreiter [Ogef.] - Erich provided some great cover with the sniper rifle on Claremont, going 9-4 overall.

mr. Boe Jangles - Obergefreiter [Ogef.] - Boe Jangles would be the first to tell you that he didn't contribute greatly to our killpower, but his listening, following directions, and getting up to speed quickly as the least-informed of our group on Claremont were all noticed. The key moment for myself was when, upon learning that the Allies were nearly upon us from behind at the bank, five of us ran to the back to see/prepare for them. Not mr. Boe Jangles. It wasn't out of ignorance or laziness, but mr. Boe Jangles stayed manned as his post looking forward, alerting us that we were still surrounded when we heard shots ring out behind us. I want this to be a lesson to everybody that you don't need to be a rambo to be recognized (in fact, Flux and Ides weren't--those of you in-game know they followed our gameplan, just better than expected).

Spartacus_Legolas - Obergefreiter [Ogef.] - Spartacus_ contributed on our attack rounds on Anzio and only died once the whole map. He also, as the rest of our promotions, fought for his team, not himself, and followed his orders.

For any/all people who have already, or plan on, arguing kill/death totals...I have screenshots backed up by two sets of condumps as the basis for the K/D stats. No exaggeration, no downplaying. Just the facts.

However, I do need to report uploading the wrong image in one situation, as Estell went 4-4 on Claremont, not 2-3. My mistake.
