Nat Type 3 On PS3

Ok, I'm tired of this. I've been the ball in a customer ping-pong game between Frontier, Siemens, and Sony. I call Frontier, they refer me to Siemens, I call Siemens, they refer me to Sony, I call sony, they refer me to my ISP.

My Problem

I get NAT3 with this router at ALL TIMES. Even if I use an ethernet cable to directly plug into the router (which makes no sense). I've tried forwarding all known sony ports, making a static IP, turning on DMZ, disabling my router firewall, and combinations of those. I just can't get it to work and its pissing me off.

Anyone have something that can help me.
 
Since you are using a gateway, I would say the problem is probably your ISP. I have Quest DSL and have the same issue, no matter which ports I open or other settings I switch, I have a hard time getting my PS3 to type 2 or 1 at any time, and my 360 occasionally goes to open after I restart the gateway. One thing you could try, is by switching the gateway with a different one. Not saying that you should go buy one to find out try it, but that could give you a better answer to which the problem is coming from the ISP or the gateway.

Try turning UPnP on and see if that helps.

Heres what my UPnP options look like.

[ ] Disable UPnP
[ ] Enable Discovery and Advertisement only (SSDP)
[-] Enable full Internet Gateway Device (IGD) support

Options

[ ] Enable access logging
[ ] Read-Only Mode

Its always been that way. Also, I forgot to mention that its even NAT 3 when I plug it DIRECTLY INTO THE MODEM
 
did you try googling it?

I remember there being a ton of search results and stuff.

Im personally NAT 2 so i don't have a problem

I did port forwarding though just cuz it "potentially" helps

My router is a Linksys WRT610N.........too bad the PS3 wifi sucks and i can't take advantage of the beastly wireless N on this router.
 
I'm guessing you have dsl, you need to login into your modem, and enable bridge mode. Your ISP doesn't use Nat, your modem/router uses it for your internal network.

If your going to setup DMZ, you need to setup a static ip on the PS3

Tried turning on bridge mode, be back later with results.

Nothing, I tried a few other things to get it to work and its getting a little complicated. I'm going to try and get a new modem/router or calling frontier again.
 
well, last thing i would suggest is putting PPPoE in your router instead of your modem. That bypasses anything the modem will do other than convert the data from the phone line.
