what happend to ego servers

strand,anzio and ava is allmost everytime full's! this timeday dod servers are pretty much empty but after school servers going to populate again.

Also donner has been down a bit recently, so that would hurt its numbers.

I think we lost a lot of players because of the lag issues that happen for a couple months (and is still on some servers)

it could have something to do with some of the lag people have been getting on some of the servers. I usually see ava, anzio and strand full or 20+ people in them

Nothing wrong with the servers in my opinion.. If there IS anything wrong with them and it becomes obvious it's typically fixed, or worked on quickly. I still play every day because I consider them the best around. Holla.

I have seen server #'s low but it's due to the lag issues the server provider is having, and mostly its on anzio, and flash has the problems, so the other servers have been fixed, so be encouraged to bring you and your friends back to the servers

Let's not forget a couple facts. For starter's, Anzio and Strand are still extremely strong. Avalanche is still ranked in the top 10. Donner has fallen, sure, but like I said we've had two servers gaining ground in the rankings and it might suggest a shift in the preference of our player base, technical issues, etc., but they're not permanent I don't think. Also remember that the college semester just started this month and other schools in early January. To me, I don't see anything to be alarmed over.

You also can't forget that every single day another handful of DoDS players retire and move on to something else. The game is not growing, and it's up to recruiters and YOU all to keep the community fresh and active.

Many times I have to wait to get in Anzio, and the lag issues have greatly diminished, havent had many problems at all.

We're having a tough time with the technical side of things due to one word in particular:

Minecraft.

From what I can tell, Donner/Ava has been doing better as of late, which is a good thing, but we're trying to keep everything up and running despite the shift in priority to getting Minecraft up and running properly. Please remember: if there are problems with the servers, we can't do anything if we don't know about it. I hate getting on here and seeing a "Why is ___ down, it's been down all day..." post when I've been in Vent for 3 hours and heard nothing. When things break, let somebody in Leadership know, and we'll try to get them fixed.

as for our servers not being as populated i put it down to less people playing the game in general, not just our servers, although i did notice lag in anzio yesterday.

You could always come to Anzio..it seems to be full most of the day! The servers seem laggy though maybe its just me having a bad day...

what really makes me sad to see is argentan being empty almost 24/7. i've been populating it by joining the server, spectating, and going to school for 9 hours or so in hopes of getting the server populated....

I have the solution to all our issues (existing or not). What we need to do is bring back the houses. {RD} all the way. It brought about competitiveness amongst the clan and recruiting rivalry between houses to the point where people would fight over recruits. I mean how often do you see people fighting over recruits let alone trying to get someone to join past the point of a spam here and there or just saying if your interested in joining. I remember back in the day of houses we had people joining like crazy. I personally miss those days I joined eGO because of those houses kinda spurred a bit of excitement if you know what I mean.

the real solution would be to form a server starter team, the seeders dont keep people in the servers, only when people are actively playing will the server start to fill.

I think this is due to a few things..

- people's preferences change, I used to thrash Flash and Ava, now i play Donner and Anzio first.. and people find other servers to play on that are different and fun yet everyone knows ours are always here
- time of day/night and what else is happening counts for alot.. for me in new zealand late afternoon is normally good for anzio to be full, then maybe a bit of donner and then back to ava if i am playing late at night when all you yankees are in bed

It all swings around - as long as we keep the standards the same and consistent people will always know what they will get from us, that is the best thing we can do

I try and do my part for the off peak hours crowd. I work afternoons - 3-11PM Central. So, I am usually gaming in the early hours of the morning.
