News channel on Video games

I know it's really weird, awkward or just downright stupid to see news channel (insert really loud obnoxious cough) like Fox, but why do they do it? Fox did a report several on games such as... Mass effect and its sequel ME 2, but what really spins my logic side of my brain is Why?

They hardly know about the game, the industry or even what the game is about and yet they continue to be the center of mass ridicule in the internet. Why do they do this? is there a shortage of news to report around the world?

oh and Fox tried to bash on the upcoming game Bulletstorm, to me it was just a big face palm moment.

Very well put, also the reason why news channels report stuff like this is because it is big news, a lot of people are debating over whether it's right or wrong to have that kind of stuff in a game.

I watch Fox, but I agree they need to stay out of video game coverage, or have a video game correspondent (Kevin Perera, Adam Sessler) to talk about them when the issue arises.

Well said, also why the news channels report things like this is because it is great news, a lot of people are debating whether it is good or bad to have that sort of thing in a game.

With sensationalized news, they attract more viewers.
But I agree, FoxNews did a hilarious job at not doing what reporters should do.
