I've had a few people ask me what I do in the Marines, so i figured I would sum it up in a forum post and add a few cool pictures 
First of all, I've been in the Marines since June '07. I'm a communications/navigation/weapons systems technician and electrician for F/A-18A+ fighter jets. During the world series at a Rangers game in Arlington, our squadron did a flyover. Most of the photos are from Al Asad, Iraq. None of the following photographs are classified.
Here is what our jets look like. The weapons you can see from right to left is: you can see the tip of a sidewinder on the end of the wing, to the left of that is a laser guided bomb, next is the big gray external fuel tank, and after that you can see the head of our FLIR Litening pod (forward looking infrared)
This is a snapshot of the display while troubleshooting the FLIR pod. This outpost was almost a mile away.
This is the 20mm vulcan cannon. It holds about 550 rounds and can expend all of these rounds in under 5 seconds.
Here is a picture of me sitting on some bombs. Yes they are real, but they were not armed and are only triggered by electronic detonation.
Here is me sitting on an old abandoned AA gun during the first Gulf War. Watch out you helicopter pilots!
Big ol' scorpion. We had UFC fights with these things....well it was more like a massacre. We would put them in a box with some mice.
If you wanted, the pilots would take your camera on a mission and take pictures for you. Here is a few:
