Well apparently Activision has had enough of trying to make Guitar Hero games. Kinda makes sense, esp when their latest offering really drew me away from going after it. If im gonna get any version of GH for PS3, itll be the Metallica version (which of course that game has some interesting controversies of its own). Well looks like the leader from here on out will be Rock Band (gonna get myself Rock Band 2 asap).

What would you say is your favorite version of GH?

Btw, in case your wondering how I know about this, heres the link i read bout this: http://www.gameculture.com/2011/02/09/goodbye-guitar-hero-i-will-miss-you

Guitar Hero went down the crapper after GH3, Rock Band is much better than GH: World Tour or GH5

Even though RB has better DLC and the engine is better in most ways, I still stuck with GH's recent games just because I liked the setlists better. This is rather disappointing.

Guitar Hero III was my favorite music game. Rock Band 2 in second because of the DLC. I just have a lot of fun memories playing GH3.

To throw salt on the wound a little more, but only b/c it shows that Activision is lame:

All so they could open up a new studio that will work for the sole purpose of creating more DLC for Call of Duty.

Honestly they should outsource this to Epic and EA, I mean....they can make something like CoD in a matter of days for absolutely no reason at all!

*Bloody Screen* SO REAL

guitar hero 5 i like a lot. I also like world tour. But I don't play the guitar/bass much as I am a drummer. I feel the songs on gh5 and world tour are generally more challenging to play than the songs from the previous titles.

But as always, rock band 1 and 2 i enjoy over any gh game.

I must say, good riddance.

The last good Guitar Hero game was III, and even that was a stretch, with the absolutely ludicrous difficulty and final battle that I still haven't beaten on Expert. I'll always consider GHII to be the peak of excellence in music games, pretty much everything about it was perfect: the guitar felt good, the setlist was varied, the bonus songs were the best of any in the series, and it had freakin' Free Bird. What more can you ask for?

Ah well, I'll just go back to Rock Band 2.

pillar how dare you not hold a eulogy for True Crime Hong Kong! Ill miss that 9001 times more than GH

Guitar Hero III was too easy if anything. The final battle wasn't hard at all, even on expert.
