The problem with that is we don't really need to be recording everything played through our speakers. It'll pretty much never come in handy in comparison to the effort/RAM (on my sucky machine at least) it'll take.

Right, but if you have a basic idea of how long into, you can chop the files with audacity or some such program

I was thinking a few days ago about creating a program called "10 Snapshot", which would constantly record video and sound while you're in the game. It would delete anything older than 10 seconds and would constantly record. When you hit a key like F8 for example it will save that onto your desktop. For example if someone yells a racist comment over mic and leaves you with no evidence, push the key and you get a 10 second video as evidence. Nice.

Pass, if someone yells a racist comment into the mic, odds are they're going to be banned, no need for proof, and it's not like an adviser won't believe you if you post a BR.
