Hey Guys,

Just an ask to the members of eGO who play on the servers, when people are recruiting please don't say "yes" or "no" after someone has said via chat "Anyone interested in joining eGO", this really doesn't help our recruiters and may put some people of joining as it's not overly mature.

Thanks.

nice post Synergy

It is a common problem that i have seen in a few divisions.
its is very immature and not very helpful.
Especially in game when you struggle to hear if anyone is genuinely replying,
I hope that the leadership of the divisions would maybe mention it at meetings and ask for it to stop.
Maybe this post will remind them of it.

And for those of you doing it please please please stop
You might think its fun but its not.

Honestly Im surprised people do this, I'm trying to recruit someone and the current members start responding. If you don't want to help atleast stay quiet!

Yeah exactly, I've noticed it's all members from e's to eGO's.. and it is constantly happening!

This should be pretty obvious. If the question to a non-member was "are you interested in buying girl scout cookies" I could understand why many players in the server would answer "yes" or "no", but on the serious issue of recruiting members should only be helpful and encouraging. Don't fool around in situations like that, guys.

it also doesn't help when trying to recruit to have full fledged egos taunting pubs by saying stuff like "fail" everytime they kill them.

Zombie, this is disruptive behaviour/griefing, this is one of eGOs rules and it's not allowed. If people were to do this let them know. Also If you see a member saying "yes" or "no" after another member promoting eGO, ask them to stop it via private chat, don't let the whole server know that it's not allowed, as it could cause disruption/more people to do it.

Yeah I agree, this happens every time I try to recruit. It's really annoying to the point of not recruiting anymore :(

I propose the word fail, along with epic, and win, be banned from the English language for at least ten years.

but this guy is an ego admin with an "O" behind his name. what would one do in that situation?

I know, i was playing on the, stand sever i think its called? and i was asking if anyone was interested in joining eGO. and some people from ego say yes. And thats pretty much all the answers i got. :(

and this is why you should recruit Quality not Quantity but i digress.

Don't ask in server: hey PlayerName, u want to join eGO? Then they will feel singled out. Best way to recruit => over steam. Add them, talk to them, and bring them in.

I made a post EXACTLY about this before. Within a week everyone will forget about it.
:/

Who are you again?

Naaaaaah but seriously this doesn't help at all, that being said most recruiting should be done over steam. Asking in general RARELY gets anyone to join, you gotta make the potential e feel welcomed/wanted.

I find that you have to ask someone personally in the server first because adding them on Steam usually turns them off unless you're his or her friend. This strategy worked well for the last few people I recruited (and I should have you know that the other eGOs in the server were encouraging about the individuals joining our community). I added them on Steam just to help them through the recruiting process. Now, I'm not saying that adding them on Steam is a bad idea, but from my experience that only works if you're already pretty good friends with the person (like, real friends, not friendly for the sake of recruiting).

Wow really noise? Have you actually recruited? The way I recruit is exactly how dalsia said. I've gotten 15 people that way and I started mid january. I'm also limited to weekend play. You can't just add people randomly and hope they will join, you have to ask if they are interested first in the server. It also helps talking to them.

by in general i mean saying "want to join eGO? go to www.edgegamers.org" in normal chat and its not directed to anyone in paticular, I haven't seen many people join that way but idk
