I always like to receive bad news first when getting both good and bad news, so we might as well dive right into it!

There has been some serious concern lately coming from our members that eGO members have been stacking teams on the BC2 servers. I agree that it's a ton of fun to hop in a squad with a bunch of other eGO members and coordinate with them on Ventrilo. This being said though, when the teams become numerically skewed or have mismatched skill levels, it would be very nice to see eGO members swapping over to assist the team that is being "steamrolled".

It might not be nice for your stats, but it absolutely helps players' opinions about our servers and helps keep players from leaving due to stacked teams. It also shows that we're interested in helping out and keeping things running smoothly!

The following is an excerpt from the Admin 101 training thread:

"Team/Clan Stacking - Is strictly against eGO rules and conduct, just as with all eGO games, keep admins and players evenly balanced between the teams. The servers do have auto balance enabled but do show initiative when teams become unbalanced, pubbers will recognize us for this and keep coming back."

Let's start working to hold to that better!

The other thing I wanted to give a shout out about is the amazing dedication that all of our division members (and members from other divisions) have shown towards getting our servers populated and keeping them populated. You've all done a very commendable job in stepping up to start empty servers and being very dedicated towards having a member of the community on each server at all times.

For the past several days, all four servers have been full for the majority of the day and Rush (as well as Mixed for a couple of the past few days) has stayed full throughout the night/morning.

I just wanted to give a sincere thank you to everyone who is dedicating their time and effort towards keeping our servers going. Their ranks are increasing, we're getting new members joining that love how we have very popular servers, and it's a lot of fun to be able to hop onto a server and be able to have a blast because they are all full/close to full!

Keep it up guys. BC2 division shows an immense amount of dedication and commitment and it is absolutely awesome.

My opinion on this matter.

Problem:

I'll admit, I am one of the people who brought this up to the leaderships attention. I do believe that its starting to have a profound effect on our servers as to cause non eGO members to become weary of our servers and our rules. I have noticed a drop in the regular pubbers playing on our servers due to this and several other issues that have been brought up as well. I totally understand that its more enjoyable to play with your friends or fellow members. However, when this causes teams to become unbalanced and causes a team to get "steamrolled", players tend to lose interest or act out against it. I've personally noticed that players are more disruptive and often violate our rules when instances of team stacking occurs. This also causes a secondary effect where the admins who are on one team to stop focusing on the game to take care of the issue and then the roles are reversed. All in all, it really disrupts the overall game play for everyone and I'll admit, that i am guilty of this as well.

Solution:

1.Try, when available, to even the teams up in regards to eGO members. I understand that sometimes its kinda hard due to the server/other team being full. Just keep trying until you feel it is divided accordingly.

2. When forming squads on your team, incorporate random players in as well instead of making an eGO only squad. It shows that you actually are interested in playing with pubbers. This in turn will show them that our division accepts and invites random players to be apart of our group and help to complete the task at hand. It will cause more pubbers to continually want to play on our servers if they see the teams/squads are balanced and fair.

3. Usually the number one cause of a team getting "steamrolled" is a lack of communication. In BFBC2 its hard to use team chat while trying to run from a tank shooting at you.. trust me i know (pensive is mean with that thing xD). Encourage pubbers to get into vent. I understand some of them may not have it or don't want to, but you will never know until you ask them. I mean its a public vent for a reason so why not try to actually include the "public" in our conversations.
- This will also help cut down on having to correct people for language/player disrespect on our servers. They may say it in vent, but at least they aren't disrupting the server as a whole.

There are many other ways to help alleviate the problem, but these are just a few things I thought would help. Bottom line is continue to play with your friends while keeping the integrity of the server intact. That way everyone is a winner ^^.

If you really want to just play with eGO members, then do switch teams and recruit every last person :P than the server will only have eGO members. Problem solved! but in reality, if you are steamrolling that team, and then switch, you will be a 'pro' player and shock them when you send them a friend request/recruit them into eGO.

Just food for thought, and another way to handle the situation and get something out of it

I don't find it fun when one team (whether or not I'm on that team) is dominating.

The Problem:

I also was one of the people that brought this up. Yesterday when I was on at one point, I was on a team that was being steamrolled badly. There was one other eGO member on my team and 6 on the opposing team. The one member on my team switched to the already OP team. I asked both in ventrilo and in game for people to start switching over to balance it out, at one point there were even 4 open spaces on my team that would have made this easy to do. I also mentioned it at that point. No one really wanted to just say no but no one transitioned to the my team either. This had people from my team leaving every few minutes. Sure it was during a prime time and the spots were filled back up in no time. You may then say "so what did we really loose then if the server stayed full?" And, the answer is simple RESPECT, that is what we lost as people were talking about how horrible our server was before they left and it is possible they may not return. This is like a kick to the teeth for people trying to keep the servers up and running. Here recently I have been trying to get pubbers into vent and into eGO but with crap like that, they are not likely to respond well. It make us, the members of eGO, seem like a bunch of stuck-up ass-holes. Well I am done complaining now that is my opinion.

What do we need to do to solve this?

I would say that it is as simple as, having and showing respect to one another, the pubbers, and the servers.

Well said Slazenger. I have tried to pop into the servers every now and then to help you guys out. If you message me on steam or ask me in ventrilo for some help, then I'd be probably willing to do so.

Well-said Slazenger, I agree. Wonderful posted Sir.
Also I like to add if I may. I enjoy playing the BC 2 since I purchase this game and at fist I went crazing playing it like everyone else with any toy. But yesterday I lost the concept of why I am play the games.

“Enjoyment” these are reason and should be the reason why anyone loves playing the games. I didn’t buy the game for shaming anyone, nor for embarrassing others with my kill ratio or how great I can play the game. Which Honestly I suk J I purchase this game like any other game is to have fun playing, that’s the whole reason, “Enjoyment”

Last night I was playing BC 2, which the other team, I do admit was great players. Everyone round we played the other team was faster and faster dominations completing the obstacles. Our side was raging a lot, I try my best to coordinate an attack, I played the medic helping fighters, and dropping ammo trying all along to help the team, which I new didn’t stand a chance, because I new how some of us on other side had skill in-game. But still nothing work we kept losing over and over. Some may says I am a sore loser, but I say your wrong and you may never understand the concept of a unit; not about winning or losing it about having fun and enjoyment of the game. Yes we have some pubbers, others which try to stack and dominate to get better with there scores, but remember after awhile yes you may be the number and the only one at the top hill but standing alone, because no one would ever care to play against you.

Last night I started to care for how I rank, with kill ratio and I was getting so frustrated and I even was getting piss off. I started to get stress and I even yelled at my son for asking me a question while I was playing in game. All he wanted was to show dad his schoolwork and ask for help, which I realize and I was ashamed as a father, so I stop playing immediately and sit down with him, also later I sit down with my wife and she brought me back on why I play all games. “Enjoyments”

All in a nutshell guys I can care less what rank you are your kill ratio, or how good you are, or how good your skills are. Edgegamer is about having fun, not smearing anyone curtails or showing how tuff we are. This will only run a community into the ground. Team stacking / clan stacking is against the codes. We as a community (Unit) must attempt to do our best to ensure ourselves, others nonmembers enjoy their stay while playing on edgegamers servers in hopes they spread the word to others and return. If we let our concerns about stats consume us other than our duties as EGO’s than we have failed in our mission.

Together we will survive, divided we failed. Lets pulled together as a team, help each other and help the pubbers. They will continue to come back to play on edgegamers servers WHY? Because of the “Enjoyment”

This is my opinion, my intent was not to offend anyone or insult anyone. If I did I apologize for this.

Also I am with Slazenger on sending a shout out to all the troops dedication for edgegamers servers by keeping them filled.

“Salute Troops Keep them going”

Agreed Slaz!

Often times my night of gaming ends when I'm on the receiving end of the steamrolling for a few rounds in a row. Lets keep the games balanced and fun guys!!

You all have my full support! I couldn't disagree with any point that has been made in this posting. I will do my best to help out where I can and do what I must to help in keeping things even so the pubs have as good a time as I know we all do.

I have had this problem every day that I have played on these servers. Unfortunately I have enough honor to stay on whatever team I start the day on and it is usually the team that is getting steam rolled into oblivion. Well actually it is mostly that team. In the last month I have been on the server 4 times that I haven't been getting stomped all day. But I agree that some load balancing needs to occur. Unfortunately I don't have the time anymore to do that as I am deploying to Afghanistan in the near future and we begin training for that mission in a week. Hopefully by the time i get home things will be a bit different.

Till then enjoy!
