Maokai abilities!

Abilities:

Arcane Smash: Maokai slams the ground, the force of which knocks nearby enemies back and sends an arcane shockwave forward damaging and slowing his enemies.

Twisted Advance: Maokai dissolves into a cloud of arcane energies. He regrows near a target enemy, dealing damage and rooting it in place.

Sapling Toss: Maokai hurls a sapling, dealing damage on impact. The sapling becomes implanted in the ground warding a nearby area. When enemies approach, the sapling attacks, exploding in an arcane blast that damages enemies.

Vengeful Maelstrom (Ultimate): Maokai shields his allies by drawing power from hostile spells and attacks, reducing non-tower damage done to allied champions in the area. Maokai can prolong the effect as long as he has mana to spend on it. When the effect ends, Maokai unleashes the absorbed energy to deal damage to enemies within the vortex.

Sap Magic (Passive): Each time a champion near Maokai casts a spell, he gains a charge of Magical Sap. When he has 5 charges, his next melee attack drains energy from his target, healing Maokai for a percentage of his maximum HP.

these were announced a good bit ago, not sure if you thought they were new or not.

seems to be a fun caster tank, what Galio should have been.
 
Arcane Smash: Like Janna ult w/o heal and slow

Twisted Advance: Reminds me of Bladesurge and Dazzle

Sapling Toss: A ward with damage

Vengeful Maelstrom (Ultimate): Taric's ult w/o heal and dmg

Sap Magic (Passive): a rip from Kass

Result: Taric's lil bro
 
- Sounds like Trundle with the "smashing the ground" part (contaminate), and then Galio's gust ability.

- Similar to Shaco's deceive but roots instead of %100 crit chance.

- Jack In The Box Mushrooms? :confused1:

- Galio ult with damage magnet.

- Similar to Trundle's passive.

Result: Galio+Shaco+Trundle? :facewall:

Its a tank, that is all I need to know. I couldn't possibly care less how his abilities may be slightly similar to some other abilities champions have. The only true tank we have gotten since release of the game is Galio, we have five real tanks (Shen, Rammus, Alistar, Amumu, Galio). That isn't enough. Less tanky dps, more tanks.
 
Just saw the champion spotlight... Maokai looks nothing like I thought he would (ability-wise).

We?ll I have been playing him a lot and playing him tanky while depending on your allies DPS or AP seems the best. He?s hard to kill and to escape from. I kinda fell in love with him. :D

After watching that first youtube video, I'm struck in awe, confusion, and many other things.

I need toilet paper.

Out of curiosity, what do you use to record your games? Those were amazingly high quality videos taken of the games, and I was thinking of beginning to record my own games as well.
