how would this card do in WoW

ok so im selling my comp to a friend of my brothers to play WoW and this persons wanting to know how well it will do i dont play WoW so i have no clue thought maybe some of you would heres the specs

cpu: amd athlon IIx2 245 @2.9ghz
memory: 3 gigs of kingston hyper X
motherboard: asus 785g
video card: asus 4850 1 gig gddr3


any help would be great thanks all
 
What resolution will the game be running in?
What version of Windows is the computer using?

Assumptions, resolution is @ 1200x***, running Windows 7:
It will do fine performing the usual tasks in ~low/medium settings.
Raids might still be laggy even in the lowest settings.
 
not sure what screen res i know there going to put windows xp on it though i also know its going to get hooked up to a 19inch widescreen if that helps

Then he/she should be able to play it just fine. Although like I said earlier, raids will most likely be sluggish (especially if running Ventrilo in the background).
 
That rig will run WoW at max settings at 1080p without any problems at all...
 
WoW was made to run on anything. Part of the reason it has 12 million subs, is that your mom with her laptop can run it.
 
well im glad to hear it will do ok for them thanks for the input guys cuz i had no clue my self lol

Not true. Blizzard has actually quietly upgraded its overall graphics quality for the game, so older PCs will not be able to play it, unless they disable much of the graphics.

To actually view the game in all it's glory, you need a mid-high PC setup, assuming you're running the game in 21" widescreen, 1080p. yes, you can lower the resolution and disable some of the features, but if you want to run the game at maxed settings, you will need a pretty good gaming PC to run it.

P.S. They should be able to play WoW just fine on XP, 19" widescreen. If anything, disabling viewing distance, and some of the unnecessary graphics will improve fps.
