I assume no more help is required or unless you mean after you restart, it comes back on.

I think he means, when he restarts his computer, the monitor is working again.

You said this is a new monitor? We can assume your old monitor did not have this issue?

It REALLY sounds to me like the monitor is going to sleep.

So if I understand correctly, you:

Power off the monitor and walk away for more than 30 mins
Comback and power on the monitor with out touching your mouse or anything else
and you get no signal?

Sounds like a power saving feature of your PC. you can disable it but after moving your mouse the signal should come back.

I second this... Sounds just like a power saving feature.

Could you tell us what video card you're using, or if it is onboard?
Also, what are you using to connect the monitor to your PC? (ie HDMI/DVI/VGA/Adaptors?)

It's not going to sleep. i disabled the power saver thing so my display never turns off. and no my old monitor did not have this problem

I'm using a 5770 radeon it is not onboard and an HDMI(pretty sure)
but all is well after i reboot my computer. then 8 hours later it crashes the monitor says (no signal)

Are you Sure your Monitor doesn't have a feature onboard that Puts it to Sleep If it's Idle?

And, if you start shaking the mouse does it turn back on ?

next Question, If you use your Old Monitor and Try. Does this Still Happen?

And Ric has a nice forum avatar.

To clarify what you said about using an HDMI, is the end of the cable similar to this?

If not, you're most likely using a DVI/DVI-D connection.

How old is your monitor? (months/days)

i would say if you just bought the monitor (if its not a power saving thing) take it back and see if the new one works any different

thanks for the help guys. i found the problem. my mouse computer was turning off the display at certain times and my mouse likes to stops working when the happens and wont detect. every power saving thing is now disabled and it works fine. thanks :]

USB Selective Suspending... It's so annoying if your mouse & keyboard are both on USB and you don't have your computer set up for maximum performance over power saving.

I was going to mention it if you hadn't posted that you turned off the so-called "power saver thing."
