I woulda had this up last night but it was a mad-crazy day, so...here it is now.
Speaking of crazy day--you might have noticed my being late and coming and going and this and that and--well--I was distracted, so I take full responsibility for our loss on Campazzo because we really should have had that. To all of my men (and women) who fought there and on Donner--excellent job last night overall.
Ok. Promotion time! Please respect these deserving promotions by reading what they did. This isn't just pulling names out of a hat--it's well-deserved and fought for achievement.
Ides of March - Oberleutnant [Oblt.] - Any Axis participant can tell you that Ides carries himself in terms of guidance and leadership like he is in the command staff. While he shows his pub, rush rush rush, mentality at times (leading to some cold streaks), he is pretty much always good with a sudden 4-5 kill round on each map that rallies and inspires.
BaCkStAb! - Feldwebel [Fwbl.] - Backstab is a seasoned Realism veteran who provides valuable map/strategy intelligence, leadership, communication, and a "team-first" attitude and style of playing.
Fluxion - Unterfeldwebel [Unfw.] - Flux was his usual steady self on Donner, even though he was pretty much holding down the main road on his relative lonesome.
Spartacus_Legolas - Unterfeldwebel [Unfw.] - Let me tell you something about Spartacus_Legolas. First of all, it is no secret that he is almost always good for 2-3 kills on a round and is one of our most steady players, but that isn't even what I want to cover. Spartacus sent me a series of PMs and IMs about defensive strategies on Donner because he knows that map well and wanted to make sure we didn't overlook anything. He was excited and looking forward to play Donner, as was proven by his getting four kills in the first round (without dying) there.
Well, at about this time I got back and I was coming into the game. Of all 16 guys in that server, who comes out for me? That's right, Spartacus. Willingly leaving a map he loves and just rocked so his CINC could jump in there. For this, Spartacus was my MVP on Donner (the red star on his sig) and set an example for all of us on how to carry ourselves, even beyond Realism.
gavin gillies - Unteroffizer [Uffz.] - gavin has been a consistent team player and communicator and it is important to note that when I got here late for Campazzo (man what a horrible example I ended up unfortunately setting...twice...tonight), he dropped out for me to get in there. Thanks gavin.
razor1 - Unteroffizer [Uffz.] - razor is in leadership, but he sets that aside and takes instruction from those ranked higher than him within Realism like a champ. I honestly forget that he is used to leading, because he follows so naturally. True proof that you have to learn to lead before you can follow, as I am confident in his abilities to do both.
Smilodon - Unteroffizer [Uffz.] - Smilodon, Smilodon, Smilodon. Ok, I would really appreciate some Allies to swallow their pride and give props to this guy for last night, because their commentary will speak volumes on what he did far more than mine will, but let's give it a shot.
First off, on Campazzo on our defense round. When the left side collapsed, Smilodon faced 6-7 Allies, on his own, armed just with a rocket (and not really many people around to give him more ammo). He proceeded to gradually pick off one ally, then another...another..another...by the time he killed his 4th I was finally free in the middle of the map to sneak over and check things out just in time to see him broomhandle his fifth. For this stand alone (and overall great play), Smilodon was my Campazzo MVP and got a field promotion to Obergefreiter.
Then on Donner he nearly did the same thing in the courtyard off of bench alley. Allies just kept coming and he just kept killing. When he ran out of ammo, he struck out on his own with the c96 and caught the Allied sniper from behind with it, for his 4th or 5th kill of the round and another field promotion to Unteroffizer. Pretty much to sum it all up--he was a champ last night.
B Zerker & racing88 & StealthFighter - Obergefreiter [Ogef.] - These three held their own and did their part in the successful defense of Donner last night.
Cym & Nosh - Oberschutze [Ostz.] - Welcome to the Axis family the two newest members, both of whom participated on Campazzo.
ALSO...special thanks to Spray for being Blue Stealth last night. If he were on our roster he would get some crazy promotion and probably snag that MVP from Smilodon just for going something crazy like 14-3 with the sniper rifle on that fog-tastic map.
For all of the rest of you who played last night--I want to promote everybody every week, and you were all deserving, but please understand that the higher you go, the harder it is to be promoted and that makes it all the more worthwhile when you are. Here are our updated sigpics:
