Computer Freezing and Crashing Programs

Hello fellow edgegamers! I have a very weird and big problem going on with my computer.. i have no clue wat the deal is with this. First of all, last week the computer was running completely fine then my dad installed a logitech video HD for the camcorder to video chat with family. And this is when problems began to happen. He said it installed somthing to windows(i think?) and after that, the computer has been haywire ever since. The internet(mozilla) started freezing randomly when i would go to certain sites, and my music players wouldnt work?!?! they wouldnt play any music or anything watsoever and just say the program was not responding and it would be a pain the butt trying to exit out of em so i have to endtask them. So i went and uninstalled the program and rebooted. once it rebooted everything seemed to be normal again. im able to play music and the internet doesnt freese. But thats not all it affected apparently.. I hopped into Battlefield Bad company 2 and I have NO problems in any of my games wat so ever and when i went to click join a server, it would start to attempt it, then it gets stuck on the loading circle before it goes to the server overview while its loading?? like the game freezes and i have to minimize to end task it? then the computer goes back to wat its original stage was.. no music player works. nothin. i try to start BC2 Back up but wont even launch after that? it just goes to not responding. It does this with DOD S as well, i clicked the option tab in the menu and it froze!? so now when i restart computer it goes back to normal, music works and everything, it freaks out everytime i attempt a game related to multiplayer. cause when the computer was running normally i went back to BC2 and tryed the single player. It Worked? so i went to try multiplayer again and it did it again.. The computer goes back to freaked out stage again. This Does not make any sense to me.

I tryed uninstalling java and reinstalling. uninstalled my video drivers completely and reinstalled them. Same thing happens still. Im really frustrated and dont know wat else to do.

My System Specs are:
Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0GHZ
RAM:2G
Windows 7 64-Bit
ATI Radeon 4870 HD 1 GIG
SB Audigy Soundcard

Someone please help me or with some suggestions. i really dont want to reformat or anything at the moment lol

Quick question, have you tried a system restore?

As long as you haven't disabled automatic system restore creation points, you should be able to "restore" your system back to the way it was before your dad installed the Logitech drivers. The only information YOU need to know is what time/date it was when the drivers were installed.

yes ive tried a system restore, but also, when i look at the restore points it wont let me go back far enough, the last one i can go back to is the one that says Logitech Webcam Software v12.10.1110, and i believe thats the one that messed it up, is there a way to get even farther?

I'm not exactly sure, but...
I think using that point would mean restoring it to just before the software was installed.

It wouldn't hurt to try it out because you can always redo a system restore.


If you want to be cautious, wait for someone else with more experience to give their input.

i tried it but the software was installed, it restored to where it was, the computer is still at the same stage, so i deleted the software, but i need to figure out wat the heck it infected or messed up. yes slaz i can get in steam

Try going back the where the program was installed and then use the uninstall feature in ccleaner to remove it. The normal uninstall may not be removing it all and ccleaner should.

Personally, I would just wipe the system and start from scratch. If you have a second harddrive or an external hard drive that big enough, you could backup important stuff to it (like music, documents, etc.). Reinstall windows and than move the backed up stuff back on the harddrive holding windows. It sucks, and will probably take a couple of days to get everything back up...

Option anyways, crappy one, but an option.

i tryed that program u suggested pensive, it worked a little, cause i went into bad company 2 and it actually let me get into a multiplayer match, but then it froze after like 3 mins.. so it still didnt. haha the only thing i can really do now i guess is reformat :\ ugh
