My cocker spaniel attempted to jump on my parents bed yesterday and made an awful loud yelp...but walked away and seemed fine till i woke up this morning to find out she cant move her 2 hind legs now (paralyzed). Their prolley gonna have to put it down tomorrow cause of the bs vets who demand 500 bucks to even look at your animal...i honestly feel like blowing up the vet down the road because of her outrageous prices

[Disclaimer!!!!!] I AM NOT A VET OR A DOCTOR!!

could be a herniated disc. if the dog has had previous spinal problems, that is a common ailment. my neighboor's dog did about the same thing about a month ago, and we just took care of him by taking him outside, and he eventually got his legs working again. If a herniated disc is the problem, then she is not paralyzed, she just has just lost the signal from the legs for a while. physical therapy can fix it with time.

im really sorry to hear that. if you need help blowing up the vet, look no farther, because i love to blow stuff up

Aw man... that totally sucks. But holy cow, $500 to get help from the vet? I guess its not that hard to believe since doctors can't help people unless they get paid. Thats how it is, if you got the money your most likely to live longer than the guy who has less.

If you guys watched the bucket list movie, you would totally get it. Thats a good example right there.

Wait a second, you're saying that you're going to put the animal down, instead of seeking help because the help is too expensive? That's completely absurd.

There are other Vets out there (especially in more urban areas if you are near one, or can get to one), and there are even vets that can and will work for deep discounts, or even for free. Often these are Emergency Veterinary type facilities.....

That totally sucks soo much. I'm not only suprised that the vet is still in buisness, but also encourage you to blow them sky high. Good luck man.

my parents were forced to take the dog to a vet about 50 miles away who will look at it for free and hopefully fix ma pup :)

oh and this:

almost fits my dog perfect...she had a spinal injury about a year ago

and Spetz i would never think of putting my dog down unless i had run all possible scenarios in my head...and i yellowbooked my area for vets and there was only one open when my parents finally decided to take action :)

Thanks for all your concern guys it means a lot

When i become a vet, I'll make sure to make all things fair. Like not having $500 check-ups. I am sorry about your dog. Be strong.

It was worth the drive dude. As an owner of a small dog, you gotta be carefull of the smallest things...Thats why i have stairs for my dog to climb up to get on the bed :D

poor thing died in her sleep last night...im bummed that the vet last night pretty much took 200 bucks from us just to give her doggie pain killers which in the end didnt help one bit...i had to hear that poor dog cry all night just to wake up and find her gone...it sucks
