Hey everyone, my Packet loss seems to be almost completely resolved, I have on .01% or less packet loss locally BUT between me and the game server @ 68.232.175.77 I am having Huge losses still. At the ISP for the game server I am loosing a VERY STEADY 54% Which means there is a serious problem with the servers and their ISP. I would like others to use Ping Plotter and see what their loss is between them and the game server to verify this! If they are having a problem and we are paying to host there, we need to make them fix it ASAP!

You can get Ping Plotter HERE

That is the freeware version.

# of times to trace to unlimited
Trace interval to 1second
Samples to include to 10000 or so

It should take a few hours to complete 2hrs 46min and when it is done reply to this thread with the results please! The more people that do this, the more accurate our collective results will be. And don't worry you can still use your PC, play games, what ever you want though you should not run any Peer 2 Peer or torrent software as it may force false results or an actual greater packet loss.

Running, will edit post once complete. After about 163 traces, have 3 - 4 % at 208.178.62.141 and 2% at 68.31.63.38.

So, anyways, I closed the program before getting the second to last IP/address. Doesn't really matter anyways that one had a 2% loss over 10000 traces and the actual game server had no lost packets.

The important numbers are the PL% for the last two hops (which will be the server ip I gave you) and the isp for our servers. so please post Both of the last 2 or just take a screenshot and post that. You can also email the screenshot to me if you want. I am not going to post the email on here but just let me know if you need it and i will private message it to you. Thanks In Advance To All That Are Helping.

I hate to break it to you, but there's no reason for everyone to post these... eGO has technical staff that only make sure all of the technical stuff is working, so I'm sure that if there was some sort of packet loss going on then they would be on it asap.

Most packet loss is actually your own ISP, even though it might not be on all sites/servers. You ought to call up your ISP (again? from your op) and see what's up with them. They could even be throttling you, who knows.

Cheers

As posted in the dropbox in response to another member with a similar issue:

Hey,

I spoke with Duality regarding the issue and we're almost positive it's nothing server-side due to the fact that this isn't occurring with any other players.

Duality had a possible explanation for what might be occurring however. Our servers are hosted in Dallas and it is possible that your ISP changed the backbone, therefore routing your connection to our BC2 (and likely all connections to Dallas as well) a different path that may be slower or might pass through congested areas/poor servers.

It might be worth giving your ISP a call and asking them if any changes were made or possibly lodging a complaint.

I sure hope you get this fixed soon so that you can get back to playing with us!

I'm pretty confident that if it were server side everyone would be experiencing it. I know for a fact I experience dead on 0% packet loss from up here in New Hampshire.
