hope they get that fixed, cause i had that problem in the old beta :/
I know that this is kinda resurrecting an old thread, but I just wanted to let you guys know that I got my email saying that ive been approved into the closed beta. Anything that I should know about the game specifically? Im sure my cpu will lag up the game a lil (c2d @ 2.6 ghz).

I read somewhere that they are making preparations for an open beta, but don't know when that is.
I stopped playing the beta pretty fast. I can't say there are any real improvements at all over the flawed system it had with RealTime Worlds. Logging in to APB and getting slaughtered by someone else that has a gun 3x better than yours is not fun.

totally agree w/ that last statement. thats why i got outta the game really quickly. was tired of that happening.
Got my invite 2 days ago, so everyone should be expecting an email any time now I would think.
Still the same game from last time imo. Lag, people with incredible aim, lag, people with incredible aim and a stronger gun than mine, lag.
I'm still going to play every now and again, but this game makes me sad.

well if that was the experience from before, then ya im very disappointed as well. i dont see how these people can have extemely impressive aim this early in the game (unless they have a beast of a machine). on the other hand, lag is to be expected since this "a version of gta w/ 100vs100" as 1 magazine put it. i believe that 100vs100 is a bit extreme. 50vs50 would be alot easier on the bandwidth & better for the gameplay.
I don't want to scare you guys away from it. If you get the invite, try the game. I still have hope for this game, because I enjoy the idea and gameplay. I know there would be lag, but it still is frustrating. The people with better aim then me has only happened 3 times. Twice I chalked it up to them being a better player, one was pulling some crazy shots on our 4 man. One of the other guys even was like "wtf". I remind myself that there was a small community that played this game alot before it was shut down, so there will be players that are very good at the game.

Once you get back into the mindset of playing apb(turning a second early because their driving systems is so awesomely bad and watching around corners before going past) it gets a little better...
You're going to have people with incredible aim in any game :| and maybe I've been lucky but I haven't been lagging too badly. I usually have around a 60 ping. Though my friends that live about 5 miles away have pings around 150-200. And their bandwidth and speeds are better then mine soooo idk whats going on.
I've been playing since the first round of invites and I too haven't really noticed a change from the original game, but it's still the one game that can frustrate the crap out of me and make my laugh like a freak 30 seconds later.

I know it was. But I had it registered on a different email than my regular one...
And the driving is perfectly okay! I can drive great with it, as opposed to some other games in which driving feels rather weird that I can't really name right now...
And I noticed some changes. For instance: decal limits are stricter, LTL weapons are used less often(a small, GREAT balance change)
