Awesome history video

As many of you know, I teach high school history. As only some of you know, my contract isn't being renewed for next year. My students knew this, and for the end of the last semester, made this video, that they recently posted on YouTube. I thought it was pretty funny, and figured I'd share.... and of course, brag about how awesome my kids are.

Yes. In fact, I wasn't entirely sure as to the purpose of the fork at all, let alone the fact that is was enormous.

History . . . . interesting topic. I enjoy history for the only reason that i have understood its truth meaning, that history tends to repeat itself over and over. Actually history its my favorite topic instead of sciences or boring english composition classes.

You should maybe go apply at the local community college/university. I work as a staff employer for my cc and I let me tell you some of those faculty get paid mad bank for teaching some ridiculous easy classes. Good luck on finding your new job man.

I think I would have been better of having you as my history teacher.. mine only yelled facts .. facts AND facts no fun stuff whatsoever (and the ones who were fun left after a short period )

Sorry about your contract... my wife's is not being renewed either, so she suspects. She and a school board member have had disagreements, and there has been much BS occurring in her district with the same member. Stealing of internet passwords and reading my wife's e-mail to name a few items. To make a long story short, she wants to quit anyway, and is actively pursuing new employment. I hope you find something new soon man. Best wishes.

Mine is being terminated for what is supposedly lower enrollment. It appears to be accurate, as they're not posting my job, or interviewing for it.

However, I was also a bit of the odd man out in the department, because I liked to do things quite a bit differently than most... as that video might indicate.

So they are essentially breaking your contract because your different and make learning more fun?? Who the hell cares how you teach, as long as the lessons are learned. Hell, if my teachers did more interesting things in class, I'd actually look forward to the class. I'll bet if you put your kids up against another teachers kids who were taught the same old way (with notes and worksheets), your class would probably do better since the retain more information because its fun.

Well, that may be true Knockers, but reality is: you gotta stay on the good side of administrators. Besides, it does indeed seem like the enrollment issue is true, as I called HR today, and the position isn't being filled next year at all. Oh well.................
