Yay cant wait im building a new gaming PC - Specs

MW2 is dx9 and not vary intensive. Newer games will require something better.

Here is a quick build that is still fairly cheap:

Better processor that will also hopefully unlock to quad core. 5670 graphics card which will give you access to dx11 and is obviously more powerful than onboard.

Thanks Man. But ima try and stick with the motherboard i have atm. I Will probably install a new graphics card. I Will probably get the one you posted. The hard drive and the case is picked out and those at the two places im buying both at are very very cheaper then what you posted. 500GB hard drive for only 40$. In win griffin case, Yellow edition, only 44$. All good though. Ive got 4 gigs of ram picked out for gameing. i am getting help from my brother also picking things out. ( The power supply will be the one some other person posted in this thread. Cant remember his name but i thank him for requesting that power supply because if he hadent i would have been SOL.

That case is cheap for a reason. You'll probably cut your hand working in it.

Ask for reflex's advice on which powersupply, but it doesn't seem like you'd need more a CX430.

Any MSI board will probably be fine unless you're overlcocking a Thuban or pushing high voltage on a quad core.

Don't bet on unlocking a Phenom II dual, maybe 40% of them unlock.

You're better off spending the cash on a good 500-600W PSU. Non-modular is always cheaper and by the components you have in mind it doesn't seem like you're concerned with airflow. Find something in your price range and check out 80plus.org for efficiency.

what is the extra 150-200w needed for? ^

also, the 870-G45 has been known to fail even at stock clocks/volts

Guys guys guys. My CPU is The Anthlon dual core 250. And the Asus - Micro ATX board. Im not useing anything different on those. I Am going to stick with the Corsair brand CX430. That will be plenty for what i am useing. If i do fry the Mobo then it doesnt mean i cant buy a new one. Its only 100$. Its not that big of a deal. If i did fry the mobo it would just be awhile till i get a new one. And the In win Griffin has plent of air flow. On one side pannel their is a huge fan with a giant cut out to promote air flow. and has another fan in the back. I Will be adding a cheap fan on the front. It does have dust filters. If you guys are gonna post " Since it seems like your not going with air flow " Look the case up. It is great bang for your buck.

For future upgrades since PSUs don't change much.

The Rampage and Crosshair series have died prematurely at stock clocks too. My old C3F had a RAM slot poop out after 3 months of mediocre clocked Mushkin love.

OP, I'd really get at least a Phenom II dual if you plan to have the PC more than 6 months. That dual core Athlon is going to be the bottleneck of your gaming life. As for airflow, I'm talking more about cable management to maximize airflow. I'm not bashing the case....

But CHIXX and RE don't die at abnormally high rates.

Plus you can RMA a ram slot issue. If you blow a VRM, you are out of luck with most companies.

I don't see the point of setting someone up to fail.

Isn't this the same power design as the 790FX GD70 boards? They handled Phenom II quads north of 4.1GHZ and CPU-NB in the 2800MHZ range great.

It's an Athlon dual...lets be serious, it will be fine. Total system power won't be more than 250ish watts.

GD70s fail a lot, especially with X6s and 125w/140w quads.

At the bottom of this post is a decent list of some of the failures:
http://www.overclock.net/amd-cpus/943109-why-vrms-big-issue-why-usually.html

Note the high amount of GD70s on the list (as well as other MSI 4+1 boards). It is likely that there are many more, that haven't made it to that list yet.

and yea, for athlon dual it will be fine, but weren't you just talking about future upgrades  ?

Yea, I'm an avid OCN member. I've seen that list. Have you seen the owners list? http://www.overclock.net/amd-motherboards/528400-official-msi-790fx-gd70-owners-club.html I don't remember these failures standing out before the X6 was released. Pretty much a case of people not checking out what they're buying.

I recommended a better PSU for once the OP realizes onboard video sucks, he/she can get a decent video card without worry. And since systems are getting more powerful while using less power, the PSU won't be phased out as quickly as other components.

LoL, I do not see this being a problem with the current build. Unless he plans to unlock and push it 4 which is probably not even doable. At stock clocks, if it fails, then it can be RMAed.

As for power supply, cx430 is cheap for a reason.

Don't over estimate how much power you'll need for a 65W CPU on a 430W unit capable of doing 380W. A lot of people go complete overkill on power supplies because the manufacturers suggest a power supply that is quite a bit more than what you actually need. They do that because they have to compensate for the power supplies that aren't that great and can't necessarily put out the wattage/amps/voltages that the manufacturers say they can. So they just say you need a bigger power supply than you actually do so the person with a not-so-great power supply can still run the graphics card, at least at first.

tl;dr The powersupply is fine for the build, and has room for a graphics improvement.

I'm a big fan of understanding the customer's budget before making suggestions.

Of course it'll be better if he spends $10,000 more on a pwntastic rig.. but you gotta work with what you got, ya'know?

Yeah guys. I Really cant afford any rig over 600. That is my cut off. If i get over 580 then im done. If i go any higher ill be broke. And i wont have enough to get the game Killing Floor. :(

All together. Excluding the PSU it will be around 470. ATM. The integrated Graphics card Can play The First Crysis and BC2 on medium to low settings. I am not looking for super quality. I dont mind that. I Just want to be able to play. And the guy who sed i wouldnt be able to play any game. . . . So you were saying i wouldnt even be able to play Minecraft? Because i can tell you right now i have the worst graphics card atm and i can still play minecraft.

Wow, good call on minecraft. You showed me

You haven't even listed a motherboard model. So I'll assume you mean the 880G chipset, which can be had for around $100. That mobo with a 550 BE gets 33 average FPS in MW2 at 1280x800 on the lowest settings. You're not even going to be able to click "play" while Crysis is selected in the steam library with the combination you plan to get.

Not to be mean but your acting like a real A**. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+...43288&skuId=1473205&st=motherboard&cp=1&lp=10

Thats the motherboard im useing. Dont act like a total jerk and start thinking you know everything.
