itunes weirdness?

everytime i try to edit some mp3 files in itunes by pressing get info on the song name, itunes crashes and stops working. i have to force quit it and tell windows to cancel checking for solutions and start itunes again. when i start it again it works, its just that this has been a very annoying inconvenience for me.

Goz, what is your Operating System?
You said HP Pavillion, so it's Windows. But is it XP, Vista, Windows 7?
Go to Start -> Run or Start -> Search and type in WINVER and hit enter.
