Some of you know that I was away (sans Skippy) for a short ski trip late last week. We had an awesome time (except for some indigestion from overeating at the Atlantis' buffet) and so I just wanted to share some of my pictures --
We skiied/boarded Squaw and Northstar:

Skippy would have been swallowed whole by these bad boys:

$5 more a day got us an H3:

I loves me some old-skool murals:

And just when I thought I could take a break from DoD, what do I run into but Donner itself!

And here's Donner Lake:

Many of you probably already know about the DoD Donner map we play on (if you don't it's time to come on in and join us), and how it means 'Thunder' in German. The 'Donner' we encountered in Truckee however, is named after the Donner Party:
Yikes!

The Donner Party (sometimes called the Donner-Reed Party) was a group of American pioneers who set out for California in a wagon train. Delayed by a series of mishaps, they spent the winter of 1846?47 snowbound in the Sierra Nevada. Some of the emigrants resorted to cannibalism to survive, eating those who had succumbed to starvation and sickness.
Yikes!
