And put it all together and my comp won't start
I'm on my iPod now

Make sure your motherboard isn't laying completely on the case. It needs to be raised by the riser screws that came with it.
 
Hrmmm it doesn't look like it came with any =\
The bottom is raised a little but
i haven't done anything more than replace a couple graphics card so I dunno if that's enough or not

Edit. Just double checked all five boxes and no risers

Did you try to bench test your computer by placing the motherboard on the box it came in?

If your system boots up by doing that, then luckily you haven't shorted anything by placing it in the case without standoffs.


ALSO NOTE: The next post on that thread tells you about the standoffs (riser screws) shadows5631 mentioned.


To me it's always a 'rule of thumb' to bench test before fully building the computer in the case.
 
Everything works and I just noticed Theres nothing to connect into the connector
I'm guessing there's supposed to be? Idk
 
Does it even turn on? Is it possible that you didn't wire the front of the case properly? If there's a power button on the motherboard, try using that.
 
It works when I do the bench test but it doesn't look like I have anything to plug into the front panel connector
Would that be the problem?
 
What is the bench test?
Please use the proper terms for things, so I don't have to guess what you mean. If you don't know what something is, describe it as best as you can. (I don't know your level of tech knowledge, so don't feel like I'm picking on you)
 
My tip: don't get corsair ram. There way to expensive and kingston offers the same for lower price. Example: i had 6 gigs of ram for 200+ € kingston had the same ammount, same latency's, perfect same ram for just 69€. I feel rickroll'd =(
 
I don't mean to seem nitpicky in a help thread, but just to throw this out there: IMHO the probable reason for the huge price jump between those two types of memory would be due to reasons like latency/timing/volt/how many gigs per stick, et cetera. The quality of RAM is reliant on more than just "I had six gigs of (brand) but (brand)'s six gigs were cheaper". There's a whole spectrum of criteria that helps you judge that kind of thing, so it could have very well been viable for the 200€ sticks to BE two hundred versus the 70€ sticks being priced as they were. That isn't to say that Corsair's RAM is or isn't pricey, though. ;O

When I turn on the power supply all the fans turn on for 5 or so seconds then turns off

Check to make sure that your RAM is in the proper slots if you're not using all slots. I've seen this problem before where there are 4 slots, and if you put a stick of RAM in the wrong slot, the system won't boot.

If there are multiple unfilled slots read the manual and see if you have to occupy every other slot, or the first three slots, or what.

Also check to ensure that you have the 4 pin CPU power supply connector plugged in.
 
Reading through the posts, with the motherboard lying flat. I do not recall ever getting risers with my motherboards (though the last mobo I got was 3 years ago). I always got the risers from the computer case manufacturer. (Thermaltake, Coolermaster, Antec). Even 18 months later, I called Thermaltake and they sent over the entire kit of risers, screws, and other pieces for my case, free of charge.
 
There's only two slots for ram and I've tried every combo =\

As for the motherboard
It isn't flat on the case
The screw holes are raised a bit
Would that be enough?

What case are you using? And have you tried using only one stick of RAM? And if yes, how about a different stick of RAM besides the new ones? It's possible you got a bad set of RAM and need to RMA it.
