Good capture card?

It all depends on what kind connections you're looking for and quality you need, though. I don't know of any (affordable) solutions that can do 1080p@60 from HDMI, but the Intensity Pro is the sort of go-to card for 720p@60 recording (for live-streaming/recording consoles, etc.).

Depends. What type of capture card? To record CONSLE gameplay use the Hauppauge HD PVR. Records in HD 1080p if you have a HD tv. idk about PC

Again, it depends on what you're looking for. The Hauppauge HD PVR is also 720p@60 or 1080i@60, like the Intensity Pro. The downside is that it only allows for compressed (H.264) capture.

The Intensity Pro allows for full uncompressed capture. This of course requires a much faster system (including RAID-0 in many cases) to process the large amounts of video bandwidth needed for uncompressed files, but allows for unprecedented quality. If necessary, it also allows for on-the-fly compression (including H.264) if the system overhead is too much.

I don't have any hands on experience with either, but you should make sure you're aware of both the strengths and downfalls of each.

Use either an Easycap or a Dazzle. You can google those two and you will find many links about them. They record in 480p.

Happauge HD PVR is also very popular, most machinima COD uploaders use it, its expensive though

Now also. You can see he got 720P. thats from render settings in sony vegas pro. Unless you have that program it will be very hard to get it to 720p. The highest on the dazzle is 480p without the Render sets.
