In honor of St. Patty's Day, YoSpankDawg has offered to lead a Special Event for Wild Card this Thursday!!!

LUCKY CHARMS (aka Leprechaun Hunt)

---One guy (maybe a few, but one works) is on Allies (aka "green guys"...get it..leprechauns...ah, whatever), the rest are on Axis.
---Friendly Fire is turned on.
---Map is: TBD
---"Leprechaun" is rocket class. Axis players ("Treasure Hunters") can be anything they want EXCEPT rocket (to avoid confusion).
---Leprechaun picks anywhere on the map they want to hide. Well, "hide." They will announce their location (as specific as, say, "Tankhouse" or "Field" if it were Donner), with "The end of the rainbow is...(location)."
---The goal for the "Hunters" is to get the "pot o' gold", which is actually the leprechaun's rocket itself, and bring it back to a predetermined location.
---Axis players can't tk anybody without the "pot o' gold", but whoever is carrying it is free game.
---The person carrying the "pot o' gold" must keep it out so people can see them with it.
---Whoever "claims" the pot o' gold becomes the next leprechaun.

Possible scoring system (if we so choose):
***5 points for each "claimed" pot o' gold.
***1 point for each Hunter killed as a leprechaun
***-1 point for each tk of somebody without the pot o' gold

Very interesting! I like trying out new things and it sounds fun too!

Are they free to t/k without penalty or are they just a big walking target?

If there is any ammo left in the rocket, then by all means use it. But...here's how I thought of it...if you're lugging around a pot of gold..how much fighting ability are you going to have?

SOLUTION: Once you are the guy with the pot o' gold...everybody knows it and you're free game...so I say that person should be allowed to drop the rocket (you must physically drop it--enabling somebody else to pick it up) and then defend themselves with their secondary weapon/melee, and then pick it back up. Makes sense, right?

Also, Compton suggested a rule change that I really like:
In order to facilitate some degree of teamwork by the hunters (before anybody captures the pot o' gold) and to keep the leprechaun from getting massacred, Hunters are all MELEE ONLY until somebody gets the pot o' gold. Then it's free-for-all.

I feel that I am gonna run around like a scared Allies soldier with my flashlight out and flashing people :)

the chances of that happening are very low.... also, does the allied guy get to respawn? or jump to spec or somthing?

He'll respawn, but as a different class (so he doesn't drop a second rocket if he picks up the original). Any kills won't count to his total UNLESS he regains control of the rocket somehow.

Note: The leprechaun, either if he reacquires the rocket or when he initially has it, does NOT have to keep it as his active/visible weapon. He can switch to his carbine/melee if he wants, because he already stands out as the leprechaun.

The leprechaun isn't just tossing it out there right away and hoping it disappears.

It'd put casino cash on this exact thing happening within the first 10 minutes of the event. In much the same way that pistol night seems to have quite a high number of non-pistol kills.

Once the leprechaun respawns are they allowed to try and kill the hunters and regain the pot of gold? Or are they just a bystander after they have been killed?

Oh no dude, they're all-out to go get that thing back. No holds barred. Only requirement is they have to change to something besides rocket class (or else when they pick up the original rocket, they'll drop another and mass confusion will ensue).

"They're after me lucky charms!"

"Flash light" he calls it. Finally a perfect time to use this clip. ;)
