Ive restarted about 20 times already. I dont get past 5 years. Its terrible. I had 3 provinces and a metsuke of mine converted a total of 1500 troops in 5 close provinces and I took all those over. I see what I thought was a small 'rebel' force. I thought it was small because i have only encountered them at the begining of campaigns and I usually out number them by 200. So I got a small army of 600 and am like DIE SUCKER!! And I attack the 'rebel' force and it says 1800. And im like WTF. I then go on to lose all 5 of those provinces and in the process of being backstabbed by my vassal.

Yeah, I've noticed if you have one REALLY bad battle, you pretty much get rolled after that.

so far i haven't had any crushing defeats...well i had a few bad navy loses but no land battles so far my more annoying things was as the shimazu i have taken over the whole starting providence and then have remained at war with the original owners who were across the little gap and then a mutual enemy wiped them out and the signed a peace treaty with me once they saw my massive army ready to invade the ones they just eliminated...things have been peaceful between us for a while and i have been battling Christian rebels in my own providence they seem to only grow stronger the more i kill them

I dont know what I am doing wrong. But I see armies of up to 2000 walking around and it wont let me do that?

Hey I finally got this game this past weekend, saw it on sale on Amazon for $15 and couldn't resist.

Loving it!

Playing my first campaign as the Shimazu, I see why it is easy to start with them, it's like you're playing Risk starting in Australia. I allied with the Shoni only to realize I need to conquer all their territories. They won't be happy. I think I'm justified though, they killed my ninja who was going through their territory towards the Otomo.
