Why would you spend that much on a rig when it will be outdated in a matter of months, and a system of equal performance to cost 1/5th in around/less than a year?

Very expensive for the amount of performance you're going to get. That's only worth about $1500 max.

Panzer, you could go with a sandy build because the the 1156 are pretty much outdated now since sandys are out.
You could get a i7-2600K instead of the 950 since it's old now and i7 2600k is better but it's up to you.
The videocard, I can't help you out there.
You really don't need 12GB of ram it's a waste, 4 to 6 GB of ram will be fine for you and you can always add more if you feel the need to.
Everything else i'd ask phobus since he would know, He's pretty good about that stuff.
